Joe Flacco: I'm sold on him, let's talk about potential teams. (1 Viewer)

Hate the pick. Feels like Kyle Boller II. Reach for a guy with a strong arm. He couldn't start at PITT. Stats not great. I think Brohm's a better choice.
Fair enough but why do you like Brohm? And Flacco had 23 TD vs 5 picks last season...Matt Ryan who Atlanta made the 3rd pick in the draft threw 19 of them last season. Flacco had well over a 60% completion rate too. I think Baltimore made a wise decision and this will work out for them much better than when they took Boller. I don't think Boller and Flacco are the same guy at all.

Big reach considering noone in front of them really needed a qb.
Good point, however if you read my 1st post, there are lots of team in need of Flacco and it wasn't that the picks in fromt of them were going to take Flacco, it's that their phones were going to be ringing with offers from other teams wanting to move up ahead of Baltimore. The Ravens traded down, picked up extra picks, then managed to move up to ensue the pick, I love it and think they did an excellent job writing the book on how to maneuver in the draft. i don't think they ever were going to take Matt Ryan after seeing what they did today.

I like Brohm because of his accuracy and his experience. I'm a believer in Michael Lewin's study for FootballOutsiders and his research suggests Brohm is likely (not guaranteed) to be the best QB this year. Flacco is likely to struggle. Flacco couldn't beat out Tyler Palko at Pitt. And I admit that I am biased towards a more WCO-style QB rather than the gun-slinger.

 No way to know for sure who will be the best - but this is a good analysis !

Car could have taken him the pick later but still think it was a bit much of a move..
