Joe Webb - QB/WR Minny (1 Viewer)

Insoxicated
Vikings Homers (and other with a good handle on the situation)....

What are folks expecting out of this guy? Expecting much on the ground? Is the a guy who could hold on for a QB sneak? HOws the overall vibe in Minny?

Downside?

Expected?

Upside?

Starting a new thread to avoid the moral slapfight in the other one...

:hifive: I may be a :coffee: but I think the Bears D comes out there with something to prove after being steamrolled by NE last week (a team that made the Jets and Steelers D look bad too) and this rookie making his first start is going to be the one who pays for it. He better have that 4.4 speed as advertised since he's gonna need it while running for his life all day.

I posted this in the other thread, but.....

I think 10-12 points is Webb's floor, barring a disaster, which is certainly possible but unlikely since I think the MIN offense will play close to the vest for the most part and not want him to take many chances. I think Webb's running ability is the #1 reason why he is a safe bet for double digit points. I wouldnt be surprised at all if he breaks off a 30-40 yard run and/or ends up with 50-60+ total rushing yards. Id say something like 11/25 for 150yards 1TD/2INTs is pretty much his floor, and 18/32 for 215 1TD/1INT will be around what Id expect, and who knows what his ceiling is. In any scenario I see 50 yards rushing, so based on those numbers youre looking at a floor of around 11-13pts with a more likely 16-18pts. Based on what Im working with on my roster, I will take that in a second for my #2 flex position.

Also, an X-factor that no one has talked about is Peterson as it seems everyone is writing him off to only have 40yds rushing because he's playing a tough D. If he starts off hot and has a nice game, that makes everything that much easier for Webb.

I'm guessing almost no one saw his brief appearance last Monday since it wasn't televised nationally. I did and was impressed with his arm strength and awareness in the closing seconds of the game. I'm sure there will be growing pains, but he raised my eyebrow a bit. I would not be shocked at all if he has a serviceable-to-good game with those weapons around him.

Picked him up, but will not play him at WR.

Do any of you remember what the Bears did to Vick? Webb is athletic yes, but he is no vick yet. To say 100+ rush and 2 tds? That is crazy.

Add in they are in below freezing weather and it is something I am going to stay away from. I will come back and eat crow if I have to, but not worth the risk for my playoffs.

Yes, but don't you think that footage on Vick and no footage on Webb won't make a difference?IE - Vick they knew what he was capable of, what he did, and knew how to plan against it. Webb, they have 1 qtr of real season games, and some preseason stuff to go off of.
