John Kitna vs the Lions (1 Viewer)

Anybody else thinking about benching a big name qb (in my case Eli Manning) for Kitna this week?

I thought Kitna in general has looked pretty good in his time as the Cowboys starter and last week he was spectacular against a pretty decent defense in the Giants.

Thus far Kitna's stats have been better than avg.

vs Giants 187 yds 2 td's (only played about a half)

vs Jaguars 379 yds 1 td 4 int's -If you saw the game you know that at least 2 maybe 3 of those int's were not his fault

vs Green Bay 183 1 td 2 ints (pretty weak game)

vs NYG 327 yds, 3td, 1 int

I think Kitna keeps the momentum going at home against the Lions this week.

Any thoughts?

I just picked him up to start over Freeman if Tampa Mike doesn't play.

I think he's a good choice for this week.

I think it all boils down to your league's penalty for INTs. If you are in a 6-3 or 4-2 (TD to INT) league, you should be OK. If you have a funny system of a 6-4 or 4-3, you are almost 100% banking on the yardage he gets, which can be dicey, since you are looking at a guy who tossed for 183 yards in one week and then put up 327 the next. Plus, he is not scared of throwing more INTs in a game than TDs, so you may already be starting in the negative when yardage comes into play.

I's starting him over Ryan/Freeman/Fitzpatrick.

I've been shuffling these 3rd tier QBs since Romo went down & so far I've picked the worst guy from the group each week...

Starting him over Schaub this week but most other weeks I'll go with Schaub. He won't have the points he had last week but I sense he is developing relationships with every player on offense and I believe his numbers will be consistantly good. His O line needs to protect him against Detroits pass rush but they did a fine job last week against the Giants so they might be ok. If they play as well as last week and are in the lead they will play a balanced game but those passing numbers should still be enough.

I'm starting him with a fair amount of confidence based on his matchup.

Owner of Vick and Kitna. I could see Kitna throwin for 300+ and atleast 2 Td's but still planning on starting Vick. If I wasn't leading my league (best record - 2nd most points) and fighting for a playoff spot I might gamble and start Kitna. Tough call. I'm also starting Miles Austin and not a big fan of starting a QB-WR from the same team.
