Johnny Knox (1 Viewer)

You seem like a Bears fan, so please tell me what you know as far as their plans with their WR's right now, not what YOU hope. I have heard Knox might be moving ahead of Bennett for WR2. Have you heard that or could you see that happening? I have a gut feeling Knox is going to have a coming out party this Sunday against my 'Hawks.

Not trying to hijack, but I still think Devin Aromashodu will make some noise before the season is over. Knox got his opportunity at DA's expense. Knox seized it so far, but I really liked what I saw from Aromashodu in preseason and would love to see him get a shot too when he is healthy.

From what I have heard/read, he is not moving ahead of Bennett right now. Knox looks like he will be returning kicks, be the #3 WR, and get some shots in the 2 wideout formations. However, if he plays like last Sunday, I have to think it will only be a matter of time.

I have a hard time envisioning any team starting two smaller speedster type WR's for an extended period of time. I guess Bennett is not that much bigger than Knox on paper, but he seems to play bigger (maybe that's just me) and he appears to have more of a possession WR type feel to him. Then again, as others have said, Knox seems to be fairly adept at running the short and intermediate routes so I guess it's not out of the question that he can play that role. In any case, I could see the Bears rolling out both Knox and Hester as their starters out of necessity for the short term, but I would think long term they'd want to find a bigger/stronger guy to groom as a starter down the road (and perhaps move Knox to the slot). Do the Bears have any WR's that are in the mold of a Fitz/AJ/Boldin (obviously not from a talent standpoint but in terms of body type and general skillset)? If so, whoever that is might be worth monitoring.

I agree with this. I also think the coaches and Angelo are looking like they should get some credit. They kept saying they felt comfortable with what they had at WR, and we have seen some good things. It will be really interesting to see if Cutler truly can help turn some of these guys into players. I love what Knox did last week, and that bomb he caught vs. GB was great. The guy looks hungry too. I still don't have a gut feeling that any one guy will be THE guy, but we'll see. Cutler so far has spread it around pretty good.As a Bear fan, win or lose this year, it is very cool to see a QB with Cutler's skills every Sunday. He gets a lot of flack on local sports talk. The whole perceived attitude and everything, but as a Bear fan who has watched the turnstile of cruddy QBs, he has been fun to watch. All I know is that I have seen my fill of Rashied Davis at WR.

I know what you mean. There are times when watching Cutler play when you want to break your television, but more often than not you just get the feeling that you're watching a very special talent. Enjoy it Bears fans. Enjoy it for all of us bitter Denver fans who had that privilege taken away from us.

Body type-wise, yes - Aromashodu. Fitz is 6' 3" - 215, Boldin 6' 1" 215 - Aromashadu is 6' 2" 200 (so, not quite as thick, but similar height - and in preseason he made good use of it). Knox and Bennet are both 6' - Hester is listed at 5' 11", but he seems to play "smaller". Aromashodu is only a couple of inches taller than Knox and Bennet, but plays taller, if that makes any sense (he leaps more, makes better use of his height, his arms also seem longer.)

Would you guys rather have Knox or Sims-Walker? I can probably only get one of them.
For this season I'd rather have Knox... Far better QB should lead to more consistency (assuming Cutler continues to look his way). Long term I'm not sure.
I don't know, I think Sims-Walker is the way to go here. Garrard is more than capable of getting him the ball and with Williamson out of the picture he has less competition for targets than Knox should.

Yup, makes perfect sense... That's exactly the kind of info I was looking for. Thanks

You might be right... I just don't have much confidence in Garrard. I see Sims-Walker having quite a few ho hum performances with the occasional big game.

ah the hype......
hahahaha... awesome.... just minutes after you posted this he gets a TD... He and Bennett may split for a while but he looks fo-real, shizzle...
how about 47 minutes
That just means you jumped the gun way too early not that it happened just a couple of minutes after you posted...

Fixed

Knox scored a TD but Bennett had a great game with four for 80 yards and a two point conversion. Honestly, I think I would start Bennett and Knox and use Hester in the slot.

Knox is a playmaker hes quick, decisive, and he displays a high football IQ. Those are recipes for success in football. JK all the way

And Bennett moves the chains. You need both.
Agreed, i think Bears have a good mix in place of good young possession receivers 2 deep threats ala Knox Hester and a solid TE core of Olsen, Clark, Davis. Cutler will be set for years. If i did dynasty he would be my Franchise QB in a heartbeat

I disagree. Slot receivers need the most polish and Hester is much improved but not there yet. A classic slot receiver is Hines Ward, hands and moves and savvy but not much speed. Besides, Hester's speed is better served on the outside. If you're saying Hester might be a better 3rd WR then I can live with that, but then you put him in the slot you're choosing a bad fit for his skill set at this time.
