Johnny Knox (1 Viewer)

He's the last WR on the bench on my team. Not sure if any Bears WR will have any real value this year. But judging from weekly projections and FBG's top 200 going forward, he still has some marginal roster value.

I look to keep him on my roster through my most affected WR bye weeks, and then cut him loose shortly thereafter. He's depth to have at your disposal as a last minute replacement if there is an injury or hit a bye week issue. I'd not rely on him for fantasy points in any other situation.

I dropped him last week in my dynasty league in favor of guys like MSW, Greg Little & Crabtree.

The thing with Knox is that he will NEVER be more than a WR3. This year, they were soured on him to the point that he lost his starting spot. He has some value with being in the Martz system and his main competition being Devin Hester & Roy Williams...but I couldn't ever trust him as more than an emergency/bye week fill in.

probably limited to a flex play unless they give up no Roy Williams. Too bad cause Knox has severely outplayed Roy. I'm not sure what Martz is thinking...

Knox isn't well suited to this situation. On the one hand he is the ideal kind of WR for the Martz system (slim and speedy), but for whatever reason he just isn't in synch with Cutler. I suspect he hasn't mastered the offense, much less the intricacies. Its not Hester bad, but its not good. On another team where he could be a true complimentary receiver I think he could be much better. He's not a #1WR, but he could be an explosive #2.

Just read this on Rotoworld:

John Czarnecki of FOX Sports reports that Johnny Knox will start in place of Roy Williams in Week 4 against the Panthers. Knox is fresh off a four-catch, 84-yard performance against the Packers, both numbers which Williams has failed to eclipse if you total his entire season statistics. Look for the more talented Knox to keep the starting job for the remainder of the year. As for Week 4, he's our No. 33 ranked receiver play. Source: FOXSports.com Oct 2 - 8:24 AM

Can this guy be a factor WR2 if he keeps the job? Not seeing how he doesn't we are talking Roy williams here right?

I like Knox this week as a sneaky play against the Panthers. Not sure about long term.

He'll have a few nice games, but I still don't expect any WR on this team to get much past 60 catches and none will have a bunch of TDs. 60/950/5? A guy who can be a WR3/4 and/or get some spot starts. Which is pretty much what I expected before this news.

Just dropped willis M and picked up Knox as my flex because im convinced knox plays well in a shootout vs a weak pass defense...5/6 catches and 1 loooong TD

Also, Carolina is without Chris Gamble for this game, and have allowed a TD reception of at least 36 yards in each of their games (48, 70, 49, 84, 36). Going to start Knox over Gaffney who also has a nice matchup.

I just dropped Knox to the wire. He doesn't seem like the type I'd ever have confidence in. There is no clear favorite wideout in Chicago, and the uncertainty is too much for me. I like Knox a lot as a player, but every time I stuck in my starting lineup, I pulled him at the last minute. Just no confidence in him as a stable floor in fantasy.

I'm liking him more and more actually especially in return leagues.Johnny Knox caught four passes for 84 yards in Week 3 against the Packers.Knox had an 89-yard punt return for a touchdown called back on a phantom holding call, which would have made for a strong fantasy performance. Still, it's encouraging that Knox was able to lead the team in targets (nine) with Roy Williams healthy and starting. Consider Knox the team's No. 1 wideout going forward.
