Does anyone know if Cribbs is starting @ WR for the Browns?

I am thinking in PPR format he could be very underrated w/ returning kicks, wildcat and possibly WR.

The question i show much WR will he play?

Any insight or homers?

Could have a bright future. Needs to change up his attitude a bit though. Decent dynasty play imo.

I don't believe he's starting in 2 wr sets, but I'm not so sure how 'underrated' he is in return yardage leagues.I guess it all depends on your league details, and he did slide a bit farther than he probably should have in my league, but I see him as one of the hyped sleeper types that get so much talk about being great values that it's hard to consider them true sleepers.in my league's scoring I think he was about equal to syd rice, and I'd expect that to pimp up a bit this year, although I guess it's always posssible he might get a few kr's leeched off.

In return yardage leagues, he was WR14 in my league last year (bonus points for various return yardage stats). In a 14 team league that is a a WR1.

He was WR #11 in one of my leagues last year, but I don't know if they'll still use him as the wildcat QB with Senneca Wallace on the roster. If not he isn't likely to repeat 381 rushing yards.

why did they switch him to WR and then not start him
they didn't switch him to wr -- he already was a guy who was technically rostered as a wr that happened to earn his money on special teams.he's been buried on the depth chart, and they got a couple of 2nd rounders last year that will start ahead of him this year, although he should see the field more often in all kinds of roles.he was a running qb in college, who can catch balls, return, and they've got a 'wilddawg' package installed with him and wallace.

The 'Cyclone Flash', Cribbs talks it up every chance he gets, I hope its true and works out for him, I rostered him and harvin (and spiller) in my return yards league.

This couldn't be further from the truth.
Concur.WTH?
Concur all you'd like. Guy was running his mouth last year about being paid more. I can understand his position but going to the media is not the way to go about it. I remember him: "I love Cleveland and the fans but I got kids to feed. Need to get mine"

A WR running his mouth about money? Getouttahere.Attitude problems are yakking with coaches, throwing teammates under the bus, laziness. Wanting more money? That's human nature.

He's a legit starter if you didn't draft your first WR until the 13th round.
I think there's a really good chance that this is very wrong. In leagues that score return yards, which the OP mentioned, he's probably an easy top 36 this year.

There's a way to do things. If you're unpleased, deal with it quietly. Doesn't matter the situation. You're not getting enough balls thrown your way, your QB is a noodle-armed knob, the O-line is terrible, you want more money, doesn't matter. These things should be dealt with behind closed doors. I'm not saying his attitude sucks because he wants to get paid. It sucks because he ran his mouth and threatened his current team.Lots of underpaid cats in the sports world. The classy ones usually say: "That's out of my hands. My job is to go out there and try to win games. The money will work itself out". Am I wrong? What kind of characters do we usually see talking to the media about less than perfect situations?

:goodposting: at least he's taking care of those kids by ensuring their dad gets what he's due. unless you work for free you're a ####### hypocrite.. He's a class player all aorund. His coaches and teammates love him.

shorty don't hate. :goodposting:

BTW, Cribbs is on the block in my league. I'm no different with fantasy sports than I am in real life. I draft not solely on talent but on character. I want to be proud of the guys who represent me week in and week out. When the allegations broke with Roethlisberger I immediately shopped and traded him. I may have sold low but I don't have room for guys like that on my squad.

when was the last nfl contract negotiation that wasn't played in the media. It;s one of the few bargaining chips the players (and at time the owners) have.

And those idiotic cats, are the ones who ding their paws, and then end up getting cut and losing the money they thought they had earned by sacrificing body for the team, and the fan who feels like he owns the player because he likes the team. You (and often the team) won't help a 'cool guy' when he blows his knee out and lives on a nfl pension for the rest of his life.

Not too mention that this is a club that has a history of trying to deny liability for serious infections/injuries to it's family. So uncool of those big cats, no?

seriously.

I'm just grateful to be in the NFL. I'm living my dream. The money will come. I'm the luckiest guy on the planet.

Meh? me? I'd roster Bin Ladin if he ran a 4.28 and was given the rock 30 times a game. If Hitler could get me 20 sacks a year he's playing d-line.I'm guessing Godell handles these for us through his policies. I guess that means we should leave those matters to the owners/league, and instead focus on who's gonna score more points?

who did you draft in real life?by the way, could you nitwits try to focus in on the subject instead of turning it into yet another typical footballguys thread?

I'd rather lose with class. I'm not rostering guys with character issues.

Hmmm maybe we should start a thread and dig for dirt on the guys on your roster. I bet you there's some character issues there...Should we start with Legarrette Blount? ;) :thumbup:I know I'm gonna have to dig deep but I bet that longsnapper has some skeleton's in his closet... :nerd:

I think that as long as Jake Delhomme is the QB, he may be a surprise player. Delhomme used Steve Smith as a crutch for his entire career in Carolina, and while Cribbs probably isn't at Smith's level, Delhomme could find comfort in a player with a similar skill set.

For 2 years they yanked his chain, they offered him 1.4m a year after he was making 1.2m a year (after having 2.4k return yards). They asked him to wait for the new GM, the new GM gets brought on and sends him the same offer for 1.4m a year, he threatens to walk out, they give him a 3 year 20m contract, I dont see the problem here at all. There is a way to get these things done, he tried, for two years with his agent and they low balled him the whole time he got what he deserves there shouldn't be any sour grapes. He didnt come out about it till the new GM sent him the same offer and he should have, the entire time he was working on a new contract he showed up and played and was one of the best special teams players in the leagues... that is class.

you DID NOT just compare Cribbs to Consentlessberger.

Delhomme could suprise. i doubt Cribbs does much at WR this year though.

He was one of the best all around weapons on that team last year. How could they not use him as much as possible?

Let's be clear here- you may personally have an issue with Cribbs, and that's totally fine. However, the TEAM does not have an issue with Cribbs. Cribbs is universally acclaimed by all the players and coaches on the team. Simple reason being that he is really the only gamechanger on the team. So we should be clear that the Cleveland Browns and the coaching staff does not have a problem with his attitude (in case people read your comment and thought his attitude might affect how the team deals with him).

Now on Cribbs as a legit WR... Cribbs is the #3 WR on the Cleveland Browns. As a WR he doesn't have much value folks. Please look at the fantasy points scored by WRs on the Browns the last couple of years. Outside of 2007, not a lot. There will be wildcat plays but they are gadget plays, and by definition they are only run a limited number of times a game.

However, if your league counts return yards/scores then Cribbs has a lot of value. But then, you probably knew that.

Oh, come on. You're not going to have many players on your team if you get rid of every one that isn't happy with their contract.

Really? So Cribbs has a character issue because he took some of his contract negotiations public. However, currently rostered on your sig team are the following people who have actually broken either the law or NCAA rules:Ahmad Bradshaw - Resisting arrest, larcenyDavid Boston (what's he doing on your roster?) - DUI, positive for GHBDez Bryant - Suspended by NCAALeGarrette Blount - Suspended by NCAAMike Williams - Suspended by NCAABefore I get 1,000 responses about how all these are good guys, please note, I am personally not calling into question the character of these players (or Cribbs). However, I am calling into question your method for evaluating 'character'. Apparently what Cribbs did was way worse in your eyes.

This has got to be schtick right? You can't actually believe these guys somehow represent you or reflect on you in anyway?Even if you somehow do think that.....of all the guys in the league you might make a comment about character on and you choose Cribbs?Good lord man.
