Fogg Signs

This blog is a reputable source. I think its a good safe signing, especially the way Fogg finished last year. Maybe a late bloomer?

I would love to see Bailey and Cueto contribute this year to go along with Harang and Arroyo.

I don't get this one. At best, Fogg is just a guy who'll eat innings. Pitching in Colorado hasn't done him any favors but Cinncinati isn't going to treat him much better.

The Reds have some decent pitching prospects but Dusty and **** Pole have always favored veterans.

:wallbang: it doesn't help that Dusty has said they want to bring Lofton to play CF this year. He's harrrrrrrrrible

Reds shouldn't have any problems scoring runs, so if he can eat up innings without giving up too many runs, having a veteran pitcher at the end of the rotation is a good thing. I also noticed he doesnt walk a whole lot of guys...thats always a good thing.I don't know what his flyball/groundball ratio is....does anyone know where I can see that stuff?

Fogg's stats page

Fogg's GB% is in the low 40s% range. Like most everything else about him, that's a little below average. Compare that to someone like Brandon Webb who's in the high 50s% or at the other extreme Eric Milton in the low 30s%.

He's not a terrible pitcher and could eat innings for a number of teams. I just don't think the Reds are one of the them. They're probably a couple of years away from contending and have a few prospects who could fill the back end of the rotation and gain experience.
