Josh Freeman (1 Viewer)

I've got Schaub on bye this week and I'm rolling the dice on this guy even though there are some "better" options on the WW like Palmer and Cassel. He's been relatively consistent so far this year, the worst statistical game he's had so far was against Pittsburgh, not surprising, and I love that he's averaging 6.3 yards per carry. Is anyone else rolling with Freeman this week or am I alone on this one?

I'm rolling with him over Cutler and am tempted to do so every week from here on out.
funny, I just picked up Freeman and have Cutler as my other QB. I don't have the balls to play Freeman over Cutler yet, but something tells me I'm going to be pissed about it after this week!

I am rolling with Freeman(Peyton on bye) ... I would rather go with Cassel but he got picked off waivers.

I tried to trade Freeman and D.Ward (he has A.Foster) for Cassel but no go. I would definetly take Palmer over both

Considering Freeman over Kolb and Favre this week. He is averaging more points per game than both...and doesn't tend to have the stinker games that Favre does. I worry about Vick stealing touches from Kolb if he's active.

I also have Schaub on bye and am going with Freeman. I would roll with him over Palmer and Cassell although Cassell has looked good recently and plays the Jags. Good luck to all of us rolling with Freeman!!

Freeman on Schaub bye here, as well.

Yep, consistent.

I've yet to decide whether it's a good or a bad thing he's getting the hook when games are out of hand (PIT and NO games). I think they're trying to keep him healthy rather than learn him a lesson, but haven't any recollection why I think that, maybe something I overheard, cuz I haven't done any reading up on him and that situation this year.

A lot of Freeman over Palmer/Cassell, I'm debating Freeman over Manning (Eli)??? What really got me is him getting in the face of a NO DB last week, love that spirit!

The one thing that has been impressive about Freeman is the same thing that makes Sanchez a good bye week filler: lack of turnovers.

Long term, I think Bradford or Stafford put up better numbers, but for right now, Freeman (and Sanchez) are a good option for your QB2. I don't need him in any of my leagues, but I like Freeman's matchup a lot this week.

I targeted Freeman at my draft and took him in the last round. I knew I would play Peyton every week except the week 7 bye. At home against the Rams looked by far to be the best option. The Rams have played better, so not quite as juicy - but you're right, Freeman, other than against the Steelers, has been very consistent. And since they can't run he throws a lot. It may not be pretty, but when you look up at the end of the game he manages to make points happen. I'm rolling with him..

Starting Freeman (Schaub on bye).

Cassel and Kolb both on waivers. Like others said, I like him this week because of his low floor. He's probably a lock for 10-14 points.

As I am. I am considering Freeman over both he and Palmer.

My 2 QB's are Ryan and Vick and I've got them both out week 8. Think I'm gonna drop one of my bench scrubs and pick up Freeman. I don't expect him to have a huge day at ARI, but I'll take my chances. He has looked pretty solid.

I had freemand but used him in a trade but he is absolutley a great QB2 or QB1 if your starter is on a bye or has an injury. He is consistent and he is a good QB. He has good targets in Williams and Winslow ( And Benn soon) and gets rushing yards. If I didnt have Orton / Stafford / Flacco I would re- pick up Freeman ( Guy I traded him to dropped him for Bradford.)

Going with Freeman as Vick is hurt and Schaub is on bye. Love his consistency so far this season... much better than Schaub in fact.

Idk about Freeman this week against the Rams. Bucs C Jeff Fain is out and he made all the line calls and I'm worried it's affecting Freeman.

Rams also shut down Rivers last week and even though that was in STL, the Rams D could start playing well on the road.

I think Cassel at home vs JAX could be a better play. Cassel has been coming on.

One thing I really like about Josh with all the concussions at the QB position is that he has great pocket awareness and is very strong. No statistical proof but if bet he's as likely as any to finish a game.

As a Carolina fan, when I had a chance to watch him last year, I thought he was doing well. Seemed fairly poised, moved well in the pocket, decent arm strength. He just made rookie mistakes. Watching him this year, I think he is going to be a decent QB in this league. I don't know if he'll ever be top 10, but I liked him enough to give up a first round rookie pick next year in a 14 team dynasty. My problem is this week with byes. Superflex, I have to decide on Freeman, Jennings at 1ppr, or Witten at 1.5ppr. I'm actually leaning towards Freeman because I feel confident he'll get me about 12 points.

This is an odd story that you especially wouldnt expect to read about divisional rivals. Drew Brees worked with Freeman to help him improve in the off season. When I first read the story I was like WTH? why help a division opponent? But it is Drew Brees the superbowl MVP so I had to cut him some slack. Anyway I think that work has paid off big for Freeman with his consistency.

As others have mentioned, I too am rolling with Freeman this week due to P. Manning's bye in a couple of leagues. I specifically drafted Freeman in one of those leagues because of the Bucs matchup with the Rams this week. In the other league, I quickly dropped Campbell to scoop up Freeman when it became apparent that Campbell wouldn't be starting all that much this year. At least one league mate called to say that I beat him to it and he thought it was a great pickup.

Consistency is the key with Freeman. He might not light it up this week, but I expect decent numbers - enough so that I am not taking a huge hit at the QB position in relation to Manning's average score. If he puts up about 20 fantasy points I'll be thrilled.
