So he was "great" compared to below average amateur (college) athletes. Got it.
So players from non-BCS schools have no chance at success. Got it.
What? Did somebody say that (I know I didn't); or do you just like to make #### up?
nope...you were being ridiculously obtuse. Those numbers could be against high school teams, and they'd still be eye-popping. You can shrug off RB's numbers to a small extent in small schools....but QB's have to have receivers on the other end, and blockers blocking to give him time to find those receivers. Presumably.....his blockers and receivers are D2 scrubs as well.

the times sure have changed (back) rather rapidly. didn't even realize it before this thread, but there is now only 1 "running" qb in the league - josh johnson. that fad sure did come and go quickly.
When was there ever more than 1-2 running QBs among NFL starters?
i don't know...vick, mcnabb, mcnair? probably another in there. vick, young, mcnabb? my point is more that they don't seem to exist anymore. seems like no starters in the nfl besides him even run at all. garrard, rodgers, and romo a little bit i guess.

He looks very smooth. Needs to learn to throw the ball downfield. You'd think Leftwich would be the ideal mentor in that case.

Well, I thought he looked pretty good overall. Seemed to be pretty confident back there. He looked real shifty and showed his playmaking ability with his feet. His passing... would like to see a lot more. He had a couple of nice throws but also a few questionable ones, ones that you would expect with a guy getting his first NFL start. I think he has a lot of potential and would have really liked to see what he could have done on that last 2 min drive.. I still don't understand why they decided to run a draw with clifton smith when Caddy was looking so good. Fumbled away his chances. We'll see, but I think it was a promising start.

This is quite the comeback story, it would be awesome if he led the Redskins into the playoffs. It looks possible now.
The Redskins will likely give up 200 yards to Derrick Henry next week and lose, so I don't believe it's more than a theoretical possibility. Johnson still deserves congrats though. He's their 4th starting QB this year, and today he was not Mark Sanchez and they won.
