Julius Jones is Done in Dallas..... (1 Viewer)

I have been a huge JJ apologist and believer that he was the man. It's time for MB3, say 70% MB3-30% JJ.
This surprises me, Bankerguy. You have been a VERY ardent Julius supporter. I commend you on saying this publicly. We all change our opinion from time to time when more info is gained. But, I would like to know what specifically happened today that changed your opinion?
Thanks...I think. The Cowboys are at the point were if you as a player don't play well you don't play.

Carpenter...check

Bledsoe....check

Vanderjagt..check

Julius......was out of sync today.

He has been solid this year....BUT

I think it's time to ride the hot hand.
Or the better RB

when in Julius' contract up? this is his third year right?love for the Jets to make a play at him
No way Righetti! Lets shoot for Michael Turner instead man!!JJ as a fall back only. But I hope the Schottenhiemer connection gets us M.T.BTW-Julius Jones lacks balance as a runner, I have MBIII on two teams, and watch these two play frequently. Julius goes down as soon as he's hit, it's too bad because I believe he's a talented back.MBIII plays harder, lowers his pads better and stays on his feet. Important for a RB to say the least.

Barber is good, but you guys overrate him.Barber gets 85% of his carries on the goal line, in passing situations, or when the game is out of hand and the opposing defense has quit.JJ gets 95% of his carries on 1st and 2nd down when defenses are geared to stop the run.If we flipped it, well Barber would still be the better goal line guy but I'd bet a large amount of money that JJ would look better than MB3 if he was running against dime defenses or in garbage time.Furthermore, MB3's running style is too violent. It seems on 80% of his carries there is some sort of violent collision. He doesn't know how to avoid a hit. If he got the full load, he'd look great for a few weeks possibly, but I am doubtful he'd hold up very long.To use a boxing analogy that I've heard with JJ and Barber before....JJ comes in and does all the body work, then MB3 comes in and swing for the head.
JJ gets hit 3 yards down the field everytime. I don't see him being overly elusive either?Parcells needs to ride the hot hand with Barber for a while.Again..as much as I love JJ.
There is a difference in the way the get hit. JJ gets hit but it's never that violently and he goes down. Barber seeks out guys. He runs like Brandon Jacobs or Jerome Bettis (as far as lowering his shoulder on every carry)...I just don't think he is as big or powerful as those guys.Basically, you've got 2 guys that aren't capable of carrying the rock 25 times. JJ because he has a history of injury, and Barber because of his running style. They are being used optimally IMO if the goal is the long haul. For one game if your FF season is on the line, I'd wish for Barber to get 30 carries...But for the Cowboys and their Super Bowl chances and beyond, I think they are being used optimally.
I am as hard core a Cowboy fan you'll find here.My wish for Barber does not stem from Fantasy (i own JJ in one league and Barber in the other)....I am talking from a fans perpective.
I'm close to as hardcore a Cowboy fan as you. I just think Barber is being maxed out right now. He's awesome in this role and I think he'd be less effective (for the Cowboys) if he were the full time guy.
I'm not sure where this perception comes from. When JJ was hurt last year MB3 filled in seemlessly....7 DAL SEA 22 95 0 8 DAL ARI 27 127 2 10 DAL PHI 13 46 1 11 DAL DET 15 53 2
