just found out a male teacher gave the 5th grade (1 Viewer)

6 page thread about a teacher kissing a student on the forehead. WTF has this country come to? Next, all the paranoid parents will demand schooling via skype to avoid all potential contact.
did you get kissed on the head in elementary school?
For our birthdays our 4th grade teacher would put us over her lap and spank us the number of times that corresponded with our age. We got to choose hard or soft and for whatever reason, all the boys thought it was cool to get the hardest spanks from her. She was about 65 years old.
I have no idea if that would fly these days or not, but a 65 YO woman is very different than a man of any age, and the reactions that would follow any sort of physical touching with a kid.65 YO woman kisses some kids on the forehead and maybe the principal advises her not to, but there isn't going to be a thread here about it, and I doubt anyone's going to the garage to grab a baseball bat.I don't have kids, but I have 6 nieces. It wouldn't ever kiss them on the forehead. A quick good-bye hug when they are leaving, while the parents are in the room or close by, is the only contact I'd feel comfortable with.
I come from a large Italian extended family and realize not everyone is going to agree with this, but I find the bolded very strange.
I see my nephews basically every week. Around five years old. Pretty common for them to saddle up next to me when we are watching movies when they are not jumping on me trying out Smackdown moves.
Whoa, whoa, whoa! Aren't you afraid of what you might do?

I sit next to my nieces on the couch too.As far as I know, they aren't in to Smackdown, but I'd DDT them if they asked though.

The pollardsdivision lynch mob in here is silly.

OP says "a teacher kissed my girl goodnight on the forehead" and everyone screams, "BURN HIM ALIVE!". Then pollardsdivision says, "yeah, with the way the world is I'm not even comfortable kissing my own nieces and nephews because it's not worth the risk of someone raising an eyebrow" and everyone gets on his case and implies that there's something wrong with him. But the problem is actually that everyone assumes everybody else is a pedo nowadays...

People with kids are on constant high alert around other adults (even relatives), and people without kids know they're constantly being scrutinized while interacting with kids (even by relatives). For someone to say "eff it, I just stay away from kids altogether (even relatives)" is FAR more normal than the lynch mob in realizes.

Interesting that you're defending him here. Makes me wonder about you, too. Gonna have to cross-reference those "Who's Hottest" threads with posts by HJS and pollardsdivision...

I just assumed everyone except for Pitts was joking - I know I was.

Thank you.I think some were joking, but I got roped in. I was about to get myself banned with some of the responses I was about to type.

For all the forum tough guys that said they would rough up the teacher.

Keep this in mind before you throw the first punch.

Was there some sort of motive involved here? I understand you cannot go around punching people and if you put a guy in critical care, it could mean jail time, but aren't there mitigating factors? This article mentioned nothing to that end. Hitting a random guy outside of a strip club is a little different than picking a fight with a man who inappropriately touched your daughter. IMO. Maybe not in the eye of the law, but again...mitigating factors, no?

Yes, the article was rather vague as to the cause.

This was just to reiterate my point of punching the teacher. It's more important for a kid to have a father around instead of in jail. Just because you think you have a good reason to punch someone, doesn't mean you're going to come out looking like a hero.

There'd absolutely be some legitimate mitigating factors there. But that would only result in a lower sentence than the "norm" for that charge, and is not an actual factual defense to the crime itself.

You mean when kids say things like, "touch my bike and you die" or "if you go in my room, I will kill you" is actually a valid defense because there was touching involved?

Sure, I agree with you there. You can't just throw around punches and expect to get away with it. But...I think some of us would have had no problem marching up to the teacher and laying into him without throwing a punch. And I'd take my chances with a "Touch my child again, and I'll kill you" to his face.

The guy he punched kissed 5th graders?
Article doesn't say. Maybe, it would make more sense to some people here.
