Justin Gaines - Missing since November 2007 (1 Viewer)

My wife saw a placard on a car with the website www.justingaines.com and information about him being missing. She realized that was an old friend of hers son, and contacted the mother. His mother used to be my wife's boss years ago. He was 18 at the time and used a fake ID to get into Wild Bills nightclub in Duluth Georgia and was last seen in the parking lot at about 2:00 am. Here's a website with the missing person flyer - http://www.wildbillsatlanta.com/wildbillne...es/events3.html.

Just thought I'd throw the information out there as this one kind of hit close to home. My wife used to baby sit for her son when they lived here in Ohio. :blackdot:

Heard a lot about this kids name....That hick bar is right up the street from where I live.

Hope he turns up somewhere in good shape.

Is it a really shady place?

No, not at all. It's a HUGE bar/nightclub.....probably holds 10,000 people. Not in a bad area at all. It's a cowboy/off-duty cop megaplex kind of place.

That's kind of the impression I got from the website as well, but I can't help but think that he might have gotten a ride home from the wrong folks and something bad happened then. Just wondered if it was the type of place that would attract trouble.

I hope he is found soon.

Isn't there some type of investigation going on where kids are going missing from bars all over the country? 1st thing I thought of.

What are the odds that he's still alive? Gotta be extremely low, I would think. :lmao:
My wife spoke to his mom on the phone today and even she realizes that the odds are extremely low. But not knowing is the worst part about it. Kind of strange how not knowing if your kid were dead or alive is harder than knowing your kid were dead. His mom has pretty much dedicated all of her time searching for him. As a matter of fact she got off the phone with my wife because the private detective she has hired was calling her on the other line.

The muscular, blue-eyed college freshman came home from school in Athens Thursday, November 1 and decided to go out to one of his favorite bars: Wild Bill's.
One of his favorites? Implying he was a regular at many bars- at the age of 18. Hate to sound like a jerk, but it doesn't sound like particularly responsible parenting. On a different note, this sounds a lot like the M.O. of the so-called "Smiley Face" murder/mystery. Link to thread Hope he just ran off somewhere and they find him.

Thanks for the link. I thought the same thing when I learned that he had gone missing from a night club. He was only 18, he had 2 fake IDs to get into the clubs. Then again, whether or not they were the best parents isn't going to help bring him home.. But it is a reminder to the rest of us parents that it IS better to be safe than sorry.

Plus death seems hardly a fair punishment for being a 18 year old bar-hopper.

;) At 18 we all made some pretty dumb mistakes. You don't expect to come up missing because of them.

Nobody said anything about it being a just or fair punishment. In fact, nothing at all was said about punishment. That's ridiculous. But I'll bet you that the kid's parents have thought many times about things they could have done differently if they had the benefit of hindsight. I hope the kid turns up OK just like any rational person would. I would hate to be his parents right now.But people shouldn't be afraid to point out that he shouldn't have been there at all in the first place, nor should they be afraid to point out that more vigilant parenting might have been in order. No matter what the outcome is, this is another tool for parents to use to illustrate to their kids that despite their firm conviction that at the age of 18 they know everything and they're indestructible, they aren't.

Still no real updates on this story other than they have recently released some footage from inside the club that possible shows Justin getting into an altercation on the dance floor. As time goes on and on there is less chance that he is alive. My wife still talks to his mother occasionally and I know they really just want to have some closure. I can't imagine one of my kids just disappearing and not knowing what happened to them..

:(

I just noticed the bump and I was expecting to see news that they found a body. I'm not sure which is worse at this point, never getting any news or finding out the worst news is confirmed.
