Kaepernick and Chan Gailey = match made in heaven? (1 Viewer)

It just struck me that if Colin Kaepernick go to Buffalo, it would be ideal. Nevada operated with the Pistol formation. Guess who made Thiggy good under the pistol formation.

Any QB + that oline=hell
:shrug:According to FootballOutsiders, Buffalo's pass protection was ranked 20th in the league last year and were just slightly below average in their sack rate. And they had quite a few missed games by O-linemen last year too. Yeah, it'd be great if they were above average obviously, but they weren't atrocious last year and if, and that's a big if with their history, they can stay healthy, the O-line may be somewhat above average.

So, short of an Alualu surprise, the Bills can draft a great OT/G or a great DE, they can spend their 2nd or even 3rd round on Colin. I'd say good days are ahead for Buffalo

20th is not something to brag about
Of course not, but it's hardly a death knell for a QB that can move in the pocket either. And I'm sure that they would probably even move up a few spots if you could somehow account for Trent Edwards being the QB for the first two games and getting sacked 7 times because he can't feel a rush. All that being said, the Gailey really only used the pistol offense because Thigpen just didn't work in any other offense. It's one thing I like about Gailey, he seems open to making changes and fitting the scheme to the players.

I agree with Grove. The O line had some injuries but they played pretty well the second half of the year, and they were not the weakest link on the team at any point in the season. There are a number of young guys on the O Line (Wood, Levitre, Bell) and I have to think they will only get better if they stay healthy. To me, taking a defensive tackle with the #3 pick is a no-brainer, unless they think one of the QBs is a franchise caliber QB.
