Kaluka Maiava LB CLE- Week 13 projects (1 Viewer)

What's the deal with his projections for this week. Pretty good again for week 13 as were week 12 but he ended up with a 0.

Anyone know what happened last week? Did he play or not? If he didn't why so optimistic this week?

And I know he isn't a great play but I have one team that has been destroyed by injuries at LB and I'm done to my last few options

Rotated with Jason Trusnik last week in the snaps I saw, almost series for series I think. He's at highest risk of struggling with Rogers out as he's unlikely to get off any bigger blockers that get to him. His numbers may be up this week if John has seen something in the injury reports about Kamerion Wimbley. If he's not going to play, Trusnik goes back outside and the SD matchup (RB/TE) looks much better.

Thanks Jene. One of the articles this week had theorized that Wimbley would be out and Trusnik moves back outside but I don't think it accounted for the possibility that Roth now steps in at OLB.

I'm just not seeing Maiava as a safe play after his 0 last week

I don't think he's a safe play either. I think it would be Roth/Trusnik outside if Wimbley can't go. Alex Hall seems to be out of the picture and it doesn't appear that David Veikune is in the mix inside any longer.

Maybe "safe" wasn't the right word but for this league he's projected as LB 35 (6 tackles, 3 asst) just ahead of Farrior, Brooking, Bradie James and behind Timmons, Tulloch, Scott and Hayes. That's the part I'm not buyingMaybe it will change as the week goes on since Blackburn is still listed but Goff isn't. Though I would be interested in Norton's opinion

The projections are based on the assumption that Wimbley will be out and Trusnik will move back outside. The Roth pickup allowed them to unexpectedly shuffle Trusnik inside last week which is why Maiava was a zero in week 12. Personally I wouldn't trust the guy unless you are desperate. In fact I'm going to back down his projections a little in the Thursday night update.
