Keenan McCardell (1 Viewer)

McCardell is not getting in.  There is no need to even debate this unless he plays until he is 70.

My question for people is if I started playing in the NFL at 18, played 30 seasons, gaining exactly 500 yards a year in all of them, and wound up with 15,000 receiving yards, would I then be a HOFer?  I certainly hope not.

McCardell has not been anywhere near the top of any receiving category in any year that he's played.  His only redeeming quality is that he's been a decent WR for a long, long time.

Can anyone with a straight face say that McCardell was a dominant WR?
I think that if you played 30 seasons in a sport in which the average tenure is something like four years, you should go to the Hall.
Then call me when McCardell plays another 16 seasons.

After this season, McCardell will be top 15 all time in receiving yards. In two seasons, he will be top 10. Add that to his two super bowl wins and it will be hard to keep him out.

One of the best fishing trips ever.

This is too stupid a topic for its originator to not be casting a line here.

There are other guys higher on the food chain of the rankings that you cited that have as many or more rings or SB appearances that are not in. So the answer should still be a clear "no."And by the time he is HOF eligible he will not be ranked in the Top 10 in anything. In fact, in 2 years, HE WILL NOT be Top 10 even then. Harrison, Bruce, and Rod Smith still rank in front of him and are not done (and are still more productive). So he can't catch them unless he plays longer than they do. And McCardell is about even with Owens--who should easily pass Keenan this year.

BTW -- where did McCardell get his second ring from? One from TB and ???
Ebay.

He has never had a year with double-digit TD's.  He is not even a "lock" for a 1,000 yard season; having done it less than 1/2 of the time.
2005 season stats down again?
Code:
Year Team               G  GS No Yards  Avg Lg TD2005	San Diego Chargers	14	14	58  808  13.9	54  9
Which part of his current 2005 season stats negates anything Dancing Bear said?
Two games to go.
9 TDs, 917 yards = :own3d:
