Our draft is tomorrow and I'm torn on my final keeper. 5x5 mixed, 15 team league where you keep three. My options are Berkman in the 5th or Liriano in the 23rd. If I go with Berkman, I like the idea of having 5 top 40 guys (Reyes, Utley, Berkman and my 1st and 2nd round picks). But the idea of getting Liriano so cheap (remember it's a 15 team league) is hard to pass up. Even if he struggles a bit this year, I would get to keep him as a 18th rounder next year. I would not get to keep Berkman after this year. Any help would be appreciated!

Depends how much risk you're willing to take with your keepers. Berkman is very consistent, especially in an OBP league but a 5th rounder isn't a huge upgrade over his late 2nd round value (may need to adjust up for keepers and league size).

Liriano, on the other hand, is a total crapshoot. He could outperform his 23rd round by a huge amount or he could reinjure his arm in ST.

I'd probably roll the dice w/ Liriano but it's not my team.

Yeah... those are kind of my thoughts as well. With the three keepers, Berkman will likely be a late 1st/early 2nd round in our league, so there is still value.
