Keeper help (1 Viewer)

10 team 5x5 (OBP instead of AVG). 11 player keeper. Roster below.

Really having a tough time deciding between Andrus, Delmon, and Brett Anderson (can keep 2).

Here's the deal:

Andrus:

I don't love him at all, but that's mostly because I just don't get excited about guys who only help in Rs and SBs. He seems to be a necessary evil though, as the SS pool is terrible and I'd rather have non-power, SB only guy clogging up the SS spot instead of having to burn an OF spot on a burner (especially with Ellsbury burning one already)

Delmon:

I love Delmon. I think he's for real and I hate give up on young guys with alot of talent that are just starting to break through.

The problem is that we are switching to OBP, which almost kills his value. With AVG, his modest power with a whiff of upside plays very well. 25/90 to go along with a great AVG is very nice. With OBP, however, he becomes a very passable option. Instead of helping, he'd hurt.

Brett Anderson:

Love him. He is the only pitcher I am considering keeping at all. My staff bombed last year and I've got to rebuild the whole thing. As you might imagine, the SP pool gets pretty depleted with 11 keepers. We play with 8 SPs. As a rule, I hate keeping SPs unless they are absolutely elite, but this year might have to be an exception.

Keepers (14-man lineup):

1B (CI,IF): M.Cabrera

2B(MI): Utley, Kinsler

3B: Aramis, Pedro Alvarez

SS: (Andrus)

OF (5+UTL): CBYoung, Ellsbury, Stanton, Quentin, (Delmon)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd keep Andrus. SS is extremely thin and you don't have a lot of other SB options. Your chances of picking up a SP comparable to Anderson seem higher than a top 10 SS being left unprotected.

I'd dump Ellsbury, keep Andrus + Anderson and if Utley's going to miss a significant portion of the season I'd strongly consider dumping him and keeping Delmon.

Yeah, I'm open to dumping Utley, depending how things look as the pre-season progresses. Most likely, I'm playing for 2014 anyway, so there wouldn't be much point in me keeping him around to have a 33 YO (in 2012) trying to fight a knee issue that'll never go away. That would also allow me to keep all 3 guys.

I hear you with Ellsbury. I hate keeping speedsters, as Ellsbury is pretty much an expensive Pierre or Bourn. Probably just going to have to keep him and try to trade him. I only have him because he was the only guy I could pawn Bay off for very early last year before it was too late to get anything at all (before the injury).

Pierre and Bourn are better options than Ellsbury imo, they're leading off and Ellsbury's probably hitting 9th.

I'd love to unload him. Not too many feasible trade options though. I just sent one straight up for Justin Morneau. Highly doubt he takes it, but he needs to rebuild. Maybe Ellsbury being younger and Morneau's concussion might be enough to sway him.
