Keeper League: Can Keep Players Forever (1 Viewer)

Keeper league: Total Season Points. Not H2H, Not Roto

Entire field is open entering this year's draft.

You can keep 4 players each year at no cost. Draft basically starts in round 5.

Players can be kept forever.

Without getting into specifics....

Hitter scoring is weighted towards OPS

Pitcher scoring is very W and QS dependent. RPs are basically out of the question for being a keeper.

Who is your top 5 overall?

It depends on whether you're in it to win now or build for the future. I think the top five young players for the long-term are: Justin Upton, Harper, Trout, Stanton and Lawrie (if you think he can keep position eligibility long-term).

Off the top of my head, the top handful of guys would be:

Tulo - age 28

Longoria - age 27

Bryce Harper - age 19

Mike Trout - age 20

Kershaw - age 24

Justin Upton - age 26

Mike Stanton - age 23

Joey Votto - age 28

Miguel Cabrera - age 27

Matt Kemp - age 27

Verlander - age 28

Cano is too old and 2Bs don't always age well. Pujols is too old. I'm worried Prince won't age that well either. Bautista and Halladay too.

I'm not sure you could get me to take either Harper or Trout without seeing them do it in the majors. But I'm not sure I could put a top 5 together from that list either, at least not one I'd feel confident in. I guess I'd go:

Kemp

Votto

Miggy

Tulo

Stanton

Agree on Trout and Harper. Couldn't bring myself to go 1st round pick on either of them right now.Top 5 hitters, I probably have the same list. Maybe juggle it a bit due to position scarcity with Miggy getting 3B this year and Tulo being SS. KempMiggyTuloVottoStantonDoes Cargo play into this at all? Love the talent and still only 26.Top 5 pitches.....KershawVerlanderFelix - Will he ever win games pitching for that team? That 19 in 2009 is looking like an outlier. StrasburgMatt MooreHon mention to Bumgarner, Pricedoubt I could find myself mixing those two lists and having a pitcher in the top 5. They just scare me too much.
