Keeper league complete redraft? (1 Viewer)

My local, 12-team, $ keeper* league has a couple owners starting to make some noise about doing a complete redraft and a couple others vocally against it. We also have 2 replacement owners coming in, who I'd think would prefer to start fresh if given the choice.

This kinda seems like it's a hardline issue, with no real way to compromise. Either we do a complete redraft or we don't and some people are going to end up dissatisfied. Maybe there's a way to keep everyone sorta happy, but I'm not really seeing it.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this come up in their league and if so, what ended up happening?

Under what conditions, if any, do you feel a redraft is in the best interests of the league?

*Current rules: keep from 0-6 (no more than 3 RBs), with those keeping less than 6 participating in pre-draft supplemental rounds.

Thats what everyone drafted with last year? Whats the reason to change it now? There is none save just being a complainer.

I see your point and it will never be a complete agreement on this. Perhaps put in your bi-laws a redraft every so many years will sort that problem out. Your all know well ahead of time!

I would suggest changing the rules to limit the number of years player could be kept so that new teams that come in aren't so far behind if they inherit a sorry team. Or make the keepers cost a higher round pick each year. If I was in your league and had 6 solid keepers, I would quit if you did a redraft one year.

As an alternative to a complete redraft, you might want to consider a straight draft (after the keepers) rather than a snake. It might be enough of a compromise to get everyone on board.

No way I'd allow a couple of whining owners to override the basic concept of the league. It's a keeper league, not a redraft. I'll bet the teams complaining don't have strong keepers, too.

Unless you have provisions in the league bylaws to "wipe the slate" I don't see any reason to do this.

Oh I agree, I'll be voting no on this...but assuming both newbies are up for drafting their own teams, which is understandable, that gives em 4 yes votes. Not sure how the rest of the guys feel, but if they can find another 3, it'll pass.

One guy's is quite poor, the other is probably about average.
