Quick question for keeper leagues. This league is in it's fourth year, but there have been a few revolving doors. Historically, we have used a random draft order, announced before keepers are submitted. This year, after I won the SB last year, I drew the last pick, and am about to declare ADP as my keeper. I am sure this will cause rumblings, as it should. Wondering what the consensus way to handle draft order in a keep 1 league is.

Thx.

We announce keepers prior to draft order selection to add some dynamic to who you keep. The we do a lottery style drawing. 12th place team gets 12 chips in the hat, 11 get 11...etc.

I like the lottery idea. :lmao:Not too veer too far off topic, but how does announcing keepers before draft order "add some dynamic to who you keep"?

Let's say you had someone like MBIII, CP, or Gore (some type of late first rounder) on your team, and then you drew the first pick. Another team has Steven Jackson and Adrian Peterson, so he has to drop one. With the first pick, who do you take, MBIII or Peterson/Jackson? By declaring before the draft order, you are forced to decide between the bird in hand or two in bush.

Ah, is this where you sacrifice your first pick in order to keep a player or something? Makes much more sense now

I think the element that's missing is that the keeper is optional. In your example, you're deciding whether to keep anyone at all, in this case Barber, or if you forego your keeper, then you get the first pick. If you ended up keeping Barber, you would forego your first pick and not pick again until round 2??
