Quick price check for anyone interested - just got KB for Zac Stacy / Bobby Rainey. Needed a WR2 since Cordarelle Patterson isn't getting it done and KB seemed like the best option who was available in trade (Crabtree, Colston, Randle, Quick, and similar were being offered at about the same price).

Did you complete that trade with a ski mask?

I'd put KB in Crabtree's tier (or maybe slightly above by virtue of all the targets and TDs)... the others you mentioned lower, but that's just my opinion.

Thanks - I actually thought it was a bit of an overpay on my part. Considered seeing if the Crabtree owner would do Garcon instead, but decided to swing for the fences with KB and see if he's the 2014 version of Josh Gordon. My problem was that even though Garcon is better on paper and in consensus rankings his production is so lumpy this year - 2 points one week, 20+ the next, I just didn't trust him. Too many other offensive options in WAS as well not to mention I'm not completely sold on Kirk Cousins either.

Thanks - I actually thought it was a bit of an overpay on my part. Nice job. Drafted him in the 12th round in a keeper league myself. Hope he keeps it up because Marshall is one of my long keepers I have had so I hope KB lives up to take his place.

I watched most of this game just to see how he looked. I think that despite the above noted negatives, he looked very good. The fumble came on a play where he was fighting for extra yards in a crowd of 3 guys. He probably should've gone down, but it wasn't a "cheap" fumble as the only way he was still up was just b/c he was so big and the CB's were having trouble getting him down. He had a few drops, but again, I would say there was only one that was a clear drop, and that was one that Cam wizzed over his back shoulder on an out. He should've caught it, but then a good ball should've been in front of him, not behind him.

They target him like crazy in the end zone, starting when they get to about the 20 yard line. He must've had at least 4 RZ targets. One of these weeks, he's going to catch several of them and have a HUGE game. It's just guessing which game that'll be.

I have a feeling that a number of the doubters will bring up the preseason thoughts about him being inconsistent and "lazy", and while there is some truth to the inconsistency argument, the positives far outweigh the negatives at this point. We're already seeing tremendous growth in his play (yesterday not withstanding) and having a coach like Ricky Proehl working with him every day is going to continue to help him.

The great thing about Benjamin is that he isn't going to let this performance get him down on himself. He brushed off his rookie of the month award because he said that all he cares about is improving and helping the team win. He'll continue to do both.

Yeah. His attitude seems awesome. Even after a few of the drops and bad passes, even the fumble, he didn't seem to let it bother him. He took responsibility without getting overly emotional, and was right back out there to make plays the next time. I like this kid a lot. I traded Bradshaw straight up for him in FFB 2 weeks ago, and I still think I'll like the deal come end-of-year.

I wondered about the KB downgrade too. He really didn't have anything I'd call "downgradeable." The hype was all around drops, but again, he had a TON of chances. I don't think he was an upgrade, but not a downgrade either.

I can get the Spiller thing - CJ is a home-run threat. If he breaks a 60-yard run, he's > F.Jax...if he doesn't, he's not. Jury is still out on Anderson vs. Hillman...If Hillman steps right in, I'll be a little mad b/c I was on the Anderson wagon early.

It's not a great matchup, but KB is still bordering on the WR1 category - even after Sunday's down day. You must have incredible depth at the position if you are going to bench him. Again, based on the sheer number of targets, his floor is what we saw last week (excluding the fumble - should be just an anomaly) with some significant upside. I'm happy to roll with that as my WR3.

Beckham has a nice matchup against Philadelphia next week, but Eli spreads the ball around in that offense and defenses now have some tape to use against Beckham now. Benjamin still seems a safer start to me.

I had to put Wayne in. Benjamin is my WR3 behind AJ and D. Thomas...It's not hard to be deep at WR when you have a band of scrubs (Asiata, Spiller, Bell, McKinnon, CJ Anderson) at RB.

I don't disagree with this now...but I'm telling you, as much as this kid gets targeted, especially in the Red Zone, I think he'll have a better last 6 weeks than either of those two guys. His numbers might not show it yet, but I think he's a bigger part of his team's game plan than either of the other two...Well...maybe on-part with VJax, but much more of a RZ threat.

18 targets in the last two games and he hasn't scored yet. Manning got Demaryius going last week, and could easily see him getting Welker in the end zone once or twice from close considering the state of their running game and how bad the Jets pass defense has been. He's a tough cover down there one on one when you also have to account for Demaryius and Julius. Doesn't seem like a horrible idea to me this week.Sorry for the hijack

He has been. Hasn't had a big day yet but he's had 12+ points in PPR in 4 out of 5 weeks.

Old post, but he actually only has 4 RZ targets on the year. 1 in that game. I know, it's odd but CAR also averages a mere 2.6 RZ attempts per game (28th in the league).

I would think that Benji will bounce back. He is getting a lot of support from Cam and he seems to have handled the bad game the same way he did his Rookie of the Month. With the response " I have to get better every day". I think he shows big time want to and that's what makes the really good ones good. With all that said the Bengals suck at defending the tight end. One of the worst in the league. If you got Olsen play him.

I agree that using RZ targets as an indicator as to how often KB will score could be slightly misleading, as using the 20 yard line and everything inside of it may just be an arbitrary threshold (what if he's been targeted often from 25 yards out, 30 yards out and subsequently scored?) but it is what it is. How often CAR travels down field into the RZ is important however.

Benjamin then had a second touchdown called back by a clear offensive pass interference penalty. He has a knack for making the tough plays look easy and the easy ones look hard. Benjamin is a WR2 who comes with some clunkers.

I'm not too sure that Cam is the best QB for him. Something is just awkward when Cam is in the game compared to the other QB.
