Kelvin Benjamin - WR - FSU [UPDATE PAGE 1, 7/3] (3 Viewers)

I'm not too sure that Cam is the best QB for him. Something is just award when Cam is in the game compared to the other QB.
Right because it was the one game he played with Anderson that got him Rookie of the Month they just threw out the 3 he played with Cam.
He actually looked better with Anderson, not sure why but they seemed to be on the same page.
I'll take a stab at guessing why. Anderson took most of the reps with Benjamin in training camp. Cam was sitting a lot. So Cam and Benji are getting their timing down under fire. I have no problem with Benjamins play with Cam.
That makes sense but I would also guess after 5 games that would be on the same page by now. Rookie or not KB is a huge target and as much hype Cam gets I guess I was expecting too much. There was one throw so off the mark that it was at least 5 feet over KB's head.
When Cam misses he tends to throw high. It's a footwork thing. With Benjamin it's really hard to overthrow him but not impossible. Statistically Cam is having his best season as a passer. Behind a crappy oline, with receivers everyone said sucked and off the street fill ins for a backfield.
And a jacked up ankle.

Looked a lot less jacked up yesterday but certainly true to this point.

Yeah? I didn't get to watch it yesterday...driving back from Nashvegas. Stopped and caught the score, but that was it. By the stats looks like he's getting back to where he needs to be, but I think he'll need a couple more games like this one before he's officially declared "back"...of the upcoming games, I want them to beat Seattle so bad! Going to that game...should be fun.

He looked pretty good. Some say he still looked slower but I thought he got a pretty good burst on the TD run and made some good moves to get there. I am sure you are right and he still needs a little time. But I think he got the mental part out of the way and you constantly hear guys say the big thing is starting to trust the injured part again. I think he trusts it now.

he got smoked and stayed in the game, surprising given todays NFL landscape.

Mild is good but if he dont pass the protocol he sits.

DANG IT
I'm guessing it's the Burfict hit. Threw his forearm into the side of his head. Got flagged for it. Guy needs to be suspended with no pay for a while IMO. Tried to hurt 3 of our guys pays a fine equal to one half of one percent of his season pay. Meaningless punihsment. But I guess he is now on double secret probation so there's that.

Rotoworld:

Kelvin Benjamin (concussion) did not practice Wednesday.

Benjamin took a big hit from Vontaze Burfict in the Week 6 tie with the Bengals, but he later returned to the game and posted a 7-49-1 line. Benjamin will be a high-upside WR2 against the Packers in Week 7, should he be cleared in time. Teammates have said they expect to see Benjamin practice Thursday.

Update?

With Green out, and VJax on bye I'm down to either Decker tonight, or hoping/praying KB plays

I'll hang up and listen

Kelvin Benjamin - WR - Panthers

The concussion Kelvin Benjamin suffered against the Bengals was his second within the last year.

Benjamin was also concussed last November while playing against Wake Forest. This is more of a bookkeeping note as the Panthers do not seem concerned at all with the status of their stud rookie. We'll know more on his Week 7 practice by Thursday afternoon.

Hmm. Concussions are always so vague. If he's had one in the past too, he could be a late scratch. Plan accordingly.

And with Maclin also on a bye I get to start the disappointment brothers K Allen Harvin and Welker.

Didnt even realize he was hurt and in jeopardy this week. Kinda sucks after getting the late news about Jimmy Graham last week. Hopefully KB will get well soon

Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reports that Benjamin was riding an exercise bike during practice, so he has gotten the green light to start doing some physical activity.

At least it's positive

Kelvin Benjamin - WR - Panthers

The Panthers are still optimistic that Kelvin Benjamin (concussion) will gain full clearance for Week 7 on Friday.

However, coach Ron Rivera was entertaining hypotheticals after Benjamin sat out Thursday's practice, saying his absence against the Packers would be a "considerable" loss. For now, owners can remain cautiously optimistic, but must be ready for the possibility that Benjamin doesn't play. We should know his Week 7 status 24 hours from now.

The Twitters are reporting that he's practicing with the rest of the WR's, helmet on and catching passes. Official designation later, but this looks promising.

Kelvin Benjamin - WR - Panthers

Coach Ron Rivera was pleased with Kelvin Benjamin's (questionable, concussion) work on the practice field Friday.

Benjamin still must be cleared by an independent doctor, but he appears to have just that final hurdle to clear. The Panthers expect to have an answer on Benjamin's Week 7 availability by Saturday. "Now he looked good on the field. I thought he practiced well. He looked sharp," said Rivera. "I really don't think he had a (mental error). He did all of his assignments that he was supposed to do. He took a lot of reps today, which I understand is part of the protocol is to have him go out and practice and see how he does and then evaluate later. My understanding is that would be tomorrow, as far as to see how he is."

Yep pretty sure he has to be cleared the day AFTER putting in a full practice. So as long as he doesnt have a headache tomorrow, he will be cleared.

yesterday's report mentioned that he was working with strength coaches which may indicate resistance training. Resistance training is one stage before full contact drills.

Per Rivera's comment from Thursday, he has been doing well with the independents.

Now they need to evaluate how his head responds to today's drills....
