Kelvin Benjamin - WR - FSU [UPDATE PAGE 1, 7/3] (2 Viewers)

Any chance they limit his snaps this week if he is cleared?
If cleared, I'd assume he'll play the full amount of snaps. It's a tough game in GB. They will need him out there as much as possible.
This purely a Lambeau thing? Seems like a fairly neutral matchup. I think worst case for CAR is losing field position and TOP with their lousy run defense. I have to put some faith in Cam being a superior athlete and making some plays. Same for KB. Unless this "over" is at 55 or somesuch, I'd take the over to be quite honest with you.

its actually a great matchup. one packer corner is out. the other is a game time decision.

Given that he went to FSU, I'm not real confident that he'll pass the questions.
The good news is that there's something in his head to get concussed.

Don't they set a baseline first, then compare the results after a concussion. This could be a positive, I'm guessing the baseline is real low.

Kelvin Benjamin makes trip, on track to play

The Charlotte Observer reports "all signs point" to Kelvin Benjamin (questionable, concussion) playing in Sunday's game against the Packers.

Benjamin traveled with the team to Green Bay on Saturday. Barring any setbacks, he's expected to be cleared for Week 7. Benjamin will be a high-upside WR2 against a Green Bay secondary that will be without Sam Shields (knee) and could be without Tramon Williams (ankle).

I would be very surprised if he does not play.

He made the plane trip, so that has to be a good sign
Agreed. My "assumption" is that he's got the green light to play, and barring some unforeseen setback on game day he'll be good to go. Panthers doctor erring on the side of caution "officially"... not a bad thing.

The lack of information is interesting. Usually we know more by now. I think he sits. ..
theres been lots of info. he practiced in pads and made the trip to gb. coaches have said hes done everything asked and they are happy with him. hes gonna play. not sure if he should play. but hes going to. for his sake, i hope hes healthy. for my sake, i hope he can perform and his head isnt cloudy.

Rotoworld:

Kelvin Benjamin caught 3-of-6 targets for 61 yards and a touchdown in Carolina's Week 7 loss to the Packers.

Benjamin's score came deep into garbage time, but was impressive as he skied over Packers CB Tramon Williams in the end zone. Benjamin also boxed out Williams on a nifty grab in the second quarter. Although he's averaging just five catches for 68 yards, Benjamin has now found the end zone in 5-of-7 games. He's a WR2 with weekly WR1 upside. Seattle's Legion of Boom represents a stiff Week 8 test, however.

Any reservations this week going against Sherman? I just can't fathom benching him, personally.
thought the same thing when I benched DeSean Jackson and desean torched Seatttle

Play him I say, you likely dont have a better option
kelvin seems like the type sherman matches up well with. he can use his physicality and size to check him. sherman has no chance covering djax. still gotta play him unless options are amazing.

Yeah I expect Sherman to eat him for lunch. I expect something like a 2/20 line. That being said, I cant bench him. But in another league, where I wanna trade for him, Ill hold off one week.

Is Sherman going to follow him or stay at LCB? Seems like he has followed the top WR more lately but I havent watched closely enough. I have a good alternative I could use instead of Benjamin but not sure how Sherman will be used so looking for some insight...

Horrible matchup. If Seattle has any common sense they anchor Sherman to him.

I expect this game to be a blowout of epic proportions. Usually that means garbage time points, but Benjamin got pulled last week when Cam was pulled.

How often has Sherman veered away from his spot to follow the WR1 on a team? I can only recall once or twice and I don't think KB has that skill level where Seattle goes away from what they prefer to do just to cover him. Just my opinion though and I'm starting KB.

By the way.. I can't imagine many owners parting with KB, but if he does put up a quiet game..make an attempt to get him next week. The rest of the schedule makes my pants tight.

Benjamin is making a living off of his height. While Benjamin may not have the skill level relative to other studs, the skill level differential between Benjamin and Avant/Cotchery/Brown is on par with other studs relative to their WR2.

The Carolina o-line is riddled with injuries right now. I haven't even heard of some of the guys starting. This game looks were going to revisit the GB/Car game from last week. I'd love nothing better than to smack Seattle in the mouth. The fact is that outside of TE and LBs and DTs and punter, Seattle is superior at every other position.

In a way he's pretty raw and unorthodox but what I've gleaned has an exceptional focus and body control--I'm likely playing him.

:fingers crossed:

I don't know. I'm really struggling with the decision to start him or not. He's scored in 5/7 games this season. Is there any commonality to the two games he didn't score in? Size/ability of the corners, etc. That sort of thing.

Evan Silva's Roto matchup column

The Seahawks resumed using Richard Sherman as a stationary LCB in last week's loss to St. Louis, and he held Kenny Britt to four yards on three targets. Benjamin gets almost all of his catches against RCBs and over the middle, so it's hard to say how much he'll see of Sherman in Sunday's game. Seattle's right corner will either be second-year CB Tharold Simon or usual starter Byron Maxwell, who missed the last two week with a calf injury. Perhaps downgrade Benjamin from a borderline WR1 to WR2/3, but he'll continue to be a good weekly bet for touchdowns.

Seattle has been horrible against tight ends. I have a feeling Olsen is going to hit big and that should help free up Benjamin.

Do you guys ever play someone based on your opponent's QB? He has Cam and I'm torn between Benjamin and Ingram. Would that sway you at all or do you base it on just your two players? Sitting Benjamin has caused me to lose 3 times so far...
