Kelvin Benjamin - WR - FSU [UPDATE PAGE 1, 7/3] (2 Viewers)

Yeah. With so many wrs doing so well, it's easier to get a good wr than a rb. Very happy to get Charles at #2. Considered Calvin in a wr heavy league but couldn't pass on Charles. Too dependable. But still, I can't see how Ivory and Benjamin couldn't get Forsett. That's crazy to me.

People are just really thin at RB.

Can't get anything for him right now. Maybe I'm asking too much. I offered Ivory and KB for Forsett to a WR needy team. No dice. Same to the Ingram owner who only has Antonio Brown and slop, no go. I guess people are still skeptical. Hell I asked for Bradshaw and still nothing.

So KB and an RB3 are not worth an RB2 borderline RB1 in my league.
forsett and bradshaw areboth rb1s

As a Benjamin owner, I have to keep hoping they get blown out. Four of his seven touchdowns came in the 4th Q when they were losing badly. Hell, three of them came when the Panthers were down by 30+.

So yeah, keep bringing on the garbage scores.

Benjamins garbage scores and Cam's poor play convinced me to trade Kelvin. I had him as a 4th rd pick next yr and and that would be come a 2nd rd pick the following yr. I got Calvin Johnson for him who I cannot keep. I'm on the edge of the playoffs, just a reference for anyone else shopping him.

Mike Evans better FF WR for the rest of the way now that McCown is throwing it than Kevlin B and Cam throwing it at this point? I was riding Kelvin much of the season, but between targets diminishing and drops.

Any thoughts?
Cam need to learn how to throw the football. He throws it with the effort that EVERY ball is a deep ball. Those are the only ones KB seems to catch so maybe they need to throw it down field more.IF KB had been drafted by any other team with a top 10-15 QB his numbers would probably be off the charts.

Dynasty?

Not true Dynasty, keeper. You can keep a guy, but it costs you a pick 2 rds before you picked him the year before and it keeps working backwards. Took Benjamin in rd 6 this year, he would be a rd 4 keeper next year and you can only keep 3 players. If I am going to make the playoffs this year I have to win out and I wanted to take a shot. I also have Evans as a rd 6 keeper next year which is nice.

The cool, seems like you've already thought this thing through. I asked cause I have KB but in a true Dynasty.

You are sitting pretty then, true dynasty would make any KB owner giddy with his first year performance.

Agreed, most of my true success came when I traded for Morris and I'm gram finally came to life. A true RB is needed. I have Calvin Johnson, Jordy Nelson, Sanders, KB, K Allen, Hurns, and a few other WRs but tthats not enough to make a great run in the playoffs.

Being deep at the WR position, last year I traded A. Brown for Draft picks. I got Todd Gurley and KB.

Now I'm praying that Gurley has a full recovery and Cam gets his shirt together because he's been killing me.

I am, I don't regret passing on Cooks and I love that fact that the coaches are working the KB to make him a better catcher. There hasn't been many WRs his size that play in his position in the NFL so there is no data to really gage how long he will last but I'm sure it will be for at least 7-8 years.

Anyone facing the decision of Benjamin vs. Evans today? Before last weeks garbage showing saved only by garbage time, I have a feeling everyone would be drooling for this matchup vs. ATL. Now I'm not sure.

Would have had a touchdown but clearly a pass interference that was not called. This is not the first plan the refs have not made a very clear pass interference call.

He just got mugged.

Ho hum. Now if it had been replacements refs there would be rioting around here.

I don't care which ref is it, you obviously didn't see the play or else you would not have posted this.

Announcers seemed to agree with me. You can't have your hands on someone past 5 yards. Ball was in the air and defender hadn't turned around.

At a certain point owners just have to enjoy having a 10+ TD wideout on their team. At this stage of his development Benjamin isn't going to be a yardage monster but he has great red zone skills.

How the hell can the same person have such clutch skills on those tough catches, and then drop so many easy ones? I'll take those tough ones, because they have tended to be in the end zone, but man...it's tough watching sometimes.

Mfl been slow today. Hope 108 is right with bonus in my league over 100 yds
It is. Mfl is lazy. Gave all the yards to Olsen but KB lateraled to him after picking up 11. Games been over for 15 mins mfl. CBS, yahoo, espn and nfl all have it correct.

My apologies, I misunderstood what you originally said because we obviously agree here. I thought the Ho hum was a shot at what I said but after reading your response we agree.

for the love of God keep us posted

Concentration drops. This was the main knock on him that had some basis in reality. He recognizes it and has spoken to working on it. He is still a rook and he really only had one big year in a big program. This is something that he should continue to improve at.

Did he drop a lot of easy ones yesterday? I dont seem to recall any that blatantly stand out. The first down catch on the sidelines was a thing of beauty. KB is going to be an all star with Cam. I would like to see what Smith or another speedy wideout opposite him would do. Oh well we will be drafting linemen and corners in this up coming draft.

I don't remember any obvious ones this week, but I remember the week before there were several I actually smacked my forehead after.

I guess I can see where the harder they get, the more he focuses and the more routine they are, the more he thinks ahead rather than on the catch.

It's going to be fun watching him make those big catches for years to come!

not a drop... but cam's first pick was a slant that KB gave up on the route and cam through it anyway because that was his pre-snap read... that kind of error is going to get corrected over the next 2-3 years

Rotoworld:

WRs coach Ricky Proehl said the Panthers have to "make sure we get" Kelvin Benjamin involved weekly.

Benjamin has been far from perfect this year, catching just 52-of-98 targets while battling some drops and poor routes. But the Panthers have wisely stuck with him through the mistakes and have been rewarded with eight touchdowns. "You’ve got to get him touches, because he gets going," Proehl said. "Just like any great receiver, when you feed him he gets into the game." Clearly a focal point of the offense, Benjamin is an every-week fantasy starter heading into a Week 13 game at Minnesota.

It takes until week 12 to figure that out? He's pretty much the only WR option they and, outside of Olsen, the only receiving threat all year but they just figured this out?

Probably why they're 3-7-1.

Seriously. Sometimes you wonder with these coaches. Obviously they see much more of the player and have way more info than we fans do but at the same time so many decisions that they make seem to make little to no sense.

My apologies too. Didn't realize that you as the OP had responded to me and thought it was someone else. Obviously we are on the same page. I was just commenting about how bad he was mugged.

Cold weather concerns in Mpls for Benjamin, temperature high today around 13 with winds out the north around 10-20 mph. Should we trust him and Newton today?
