Kenny Britt will be the number 1 fantasy WR this year (1 Viewer)

All of us who picked Britt with a middle round pick are high fiving each other right now.

But seriously, as Chris Johnson gets into shape, he is going to become more of a focal point of the offense. Do you all see Britt maintaining this level which would imply that their offense will become more explosive or do you see Britt's productivity diminishing as Johnson's productivity increases.

I am personally torn on this issue.

I suggest you read the Spotlight for Kenny Britt if you want to know who really made the call in this forum.

Here's a hint, his name rhymes with LHUCKS.

I swear it's like amateur hour around here sometimes.
It looks like it started at 6:59 yesterday.

It's not as if the Titans offense is passing the ball at unsustainable levels. If CJ adds another 100 yards on the ground by breaking a few runs I really don't think that's going to change the complexion of the offense much at all.

Haven't read the whole thread, but one hit to the brittle Mr. Hasselback and any thought of Britt being #1, top 5 or top 10 are gone. I know that's true with any QB, but this guy is known to get beaten up. That being said, if his QB stays upright you can't deny Britt's opportunity (talent + QB who can get him the ball). Just sayin....

You seem smart and virile.

It's clearly a result of CJ being the D's top priority. Surprisingly, Washington continued seeing a decent amount of looks opposite Britt, and so far he's making the targets count. It's hard to double Britt when you're worrying about CJ and w/ Washington making plays on the other side. This is great news for the entire offense to be honest. Luckily for Britt owners, his game isn't one dimensional. He can be the posession guy and save your team with 8 or 9 receptions even if his yards or TDs are low because Hasslebeck is targeting hiim A LOT. Hasselbeck was throwing those possession type of slants and curl routes to him which was very encouraging. Also as we know, he's got the big play ability for the yards so even if teams game plan him, he's a threat to break one at all times. And on those bad games, he will still be a threat at the goalline with his jump ball TDs, so 6 points are also always a threat. I see no reason why he can't continue putting up big numbers. Although with two back to back games like that, I expect Cook and CJ to get more involved as Britt starts seeing more attention from the D. It'll be a pick your poison offense that will do well as long as Hasselbeck doesn't throw bad INTs.

I think he's a sell high. He's such a character risk, he could literally end up in a Jerome Simpson type situation at any moment.

I'm trying to package him and Dez for a true WR1 like Andre or Calvin.

Yea Britt is an idiot but back to back 30+ point games makes me forget that stuff. I'm actually a Britt and Dez owner and no way I'd trade them both for Calvin. Okay so Megatron is on my team too, but if he wasn't, I wouldn't trade them both away for him.

Gotta love the hype that a flukey 80 yard shuffle pass can produce. I know he had a good game after that, but everyone is just reading the stat lines from week 1 now. How quickly we forget (and by "we" I am not including myself). Britt may be a talent but that is not an offense I want to be part of my fantasy team. The Hass will have plenty of 180 1/2 games in which Britt underperforms. This is typical overreaction to inflated stats and a recent big game. Sell high.

If LHUCKS ever became a staffer I'd cancel my subscription. His schtick on this board is hard enough to handle. The only thing worse than arrogance is when it is combined with ineptitude.
Even if you wanted to take that play away (I'm sure you were saying the same thing about Nicks' immaculate reception in his rookie year), he ended up with 4-55-1 in Week 1. In fact, looking at his last several games played while relatively healthy, he's:9/135/1

5/136/2

5/85/1

4/89/1

6/128/0

4/39/0

7/225/3

2/33/1

4/86/1

3/23/1

2/26/1

5/41/0

That's 57/1046/12 over a 12 game period which is pretty insane. Extended to a full year, that's 76/1394/16 which would make him the #1 WR last year, by far.

Now, the chances he can play all 16 games seems pretty remote, but damn, other than Calvin is there a WR you'd rather have in your lineup on the days he's healthy? And because he fell to like the 6th round, no one had to burn a 1-2 round pick on him.
Statistics don't lie, and those stats above for the last 12 games he played are pretty impressive, unless you're R. Moss or TO in their prime.

If teams continue to stack the box to stop Chris Johnson, then Britt will produce monster fantasy points this season.

Hasselbeck can still play as he showed in the last year's playoffs and in the first 2 games this season. He is much better than the Kerry Collins or Vince Young of the past.

Hasselbeck and Britt are still developing chemistry. Things will only get better from this point forward.

Again, assuming teams sell out to stop CJ.
I never doubted Britt's talent. Primarily, I don't like his situation. Hasselbeck did not show he could play in last year's playoffs. He showed something one game and then he threw the ball 46 times and ended up with 3 TDs in the next game. 5.6 ypa is not impressive. On the year, he had a 6.8 ypa with 12 TD to 17 INT. The guy is brittle an ineffective. I liked him in his prime, but I'm afraid he's done. I'd love to see him have a good swan song, but I just don't see it.Second, Britt is injury prone. Third, he's a knucklehead. He's a risk to get in trouble. Honestly, the situation is easily a larger red flag than both of those combined, but they could become problems later this year.

Maybe this offensive line is the real deal and they keep Hasselbeck healthy and he's got enough in the tank to keep feeding Britt enough that he can finish top 5, but I seriously doubt it. So far he's thrown the ball an average of 38 times per game which is a 608 attempt pace, something he's never approached. He's also at a career high ypa (8.2) largely due to that 80 yard shuffle pass (7.2 without it).

Probability says the bottom is going to drop out of this passing attack. Some WRs can manage to put up good numbers in bad passing offenses. Time will tell if Britt is one of them. He will outplay his draft position, but he won't be top 5. Not that it was a ground breaking claim after two weeks of stellar numbers coupled with a previous post that has him ranked as WR18. Granted that is a bit higher than his ADP, but the rest of those ranking were totally unoriginal. Basically just a very slight shuffle of their ADPs. Not even worth posting in the first place, but at least it makes for a laugh when combined with the claim of this thread.

Wow, really? Andre is safer, but he does not have the game-to-game upside of Britt OR Dez. I could see one for Andre if you value safety, but both? Of course, someone with Andre who does value that security blanket and paid a first round price for it would probably reject the offer, anyway.

There is no surprise that he is a dominant player. He was dominant last year when he played.

The surprise is that he overcome the hamstring issue that plagued him all offseason and preseason, and the legal troubles.

Before the season I predicted a top 5 finish for Britt,

but after these first two games I'm convinced he will be 1.

No idea how he fell to 31(?) in the draft. Besides some

character concerns he has the total package. Complete

stud.

A ranking is much different than a prediction. Britt is a risky pick, which is why me and everyone else didnt rank him in the top 10. I'l find you guys the link when I get off the mobile site. I think I said it a few times, but I know one of them was in the bold predictions thread.
do you prefere a straight edge blade or an exacto knife when you split hairs?

Is everyone here expecting Hasselbeck to start the entire year? I honestly haven't followed the Hass/Locker situation at all - any confidence in Locker if/when Hass goes down or loses the job to keep Britt producing at an elite level?

I have made a move to acquire Hass in a couple leagues....I think TEN might surprise a few people this year (starting with the BAL Ravens).....I think that team is being overlooked a little...one of the most explosive backs in the leaguetop tier talenst WR (Britt) and Washhington is a very solid complimenthuge athletic TE that creates mismatch problemsI think Hass could have one of those late career type years (Gannon, etc)......there are some fantasy points to be had in TEN....and quite honestly....their schedule looks pretty sweet.....
