Kenny Britt... (1 Viewer)

Thanks for reminding me why you're on the ignore list. You still need to learn how to use google.
?No need to be personal. Thug is a very subjective term. I am aware of his off the field history, much of which never stuck. Sorry to inconvenience you.

Funny Marshawn Lynch was mentioned. This is a very similar situation. Lynch burst onto the scene and was being talked about as a dynasty cornerstone. Then the off-field issues mounted and Buffalo drafted another RB, causing Lynch's value to plummet. Many of us just left him sitting on our roster for a couple years. Lo and behold, he gets a new opportunity in Seattle and carries the patient owners to a championship.

Britt clearly has poor judgement but I get a good laugh seeing people jump on their high horse every time a pro makes a mistake. Even a minor one such as this.
I think Britt complaining publicly about being fined by the Titans is different than just some minor mistake. A minor mistake is getting in a bar fight. Complaining publicly that you got fined by your employers due to not showing up for a work assignment is being disrespectful to the people who employ you.

This is just my opinion on a very subjective topic, but I don't think the situations are the same. Lynch was not performing - he wasn't the most productive back on the roster before the Bills drafted CJ. If he was, I don't think they draft Spiller. This is the most subjective aspect of my stance: But I don't see similar people when I see an read about the two guys. I have much more faith in Lynch as a person, to be dedicated to football. He was suspended one for a weapons charge and nothing else has "stuck". A DUI, from a moral standpoint is an awful act. But a guy his size, blowing JUST above the legal limit, which also applies to 100 pound 21 year olds - I'll just say that I wouldn't be surprised if Lynch felt fine to drive at the time he got into his car.Britt has more issues, in less time in the NFL, and clearly isn't learning from them. Nor does he take them seriously. I think the suspension from the league and the actions of the Titans will show that they too, view the situations as different.

I agree. This act shows absolutely no common sense and terrible judgement. To do this shortly after getting pinned for your 9th-ish violation/arrest is basically saying FU to your employer/fans/anyone who counts on him. There is not a word to describe how dumb he is. He is Kenny Dumb.

FWIW, I agree that he is utterly clueless. It'd be like Vick doing an interview in support of lab testing on animals or being photographed at a bull fight in Madrid. Totally classless and stupid.I just don't think any of it will matter as long as he can still get open, catch the football, and run fast. Even multiple big suspensions and/or jail time are only a small chunk of a ten year NFL career. He'll be starting and getting a ton of looks for someone for the next 8 - 10 years because he can help win games.Re: dynasty value, I'm absolutely confident that, if healthy (legit concern), Britt is a difference making player. He's proven to be that on a mediocre run-based team and with bad to average QB play. He's really good. I'm equally sure that in a few seasons going forward, I'll likely only get that great production for 12 or 8 games because Britt is a dope. Seems worth it to me, considering the current cost.

Same here. I just can't waste my time worrying about these off-field issues when guys continue playing after crazy crimes. We're playing fantasy football, not running a real organization with a public relations committee. Most of our dynasty leagues have huge rosters. I don't see the risk in spending a spot on a guy that has proven to have stud ability. If he somehow gets a life-time ban, I'll drop him.

I be concerned that this will be a yearly battle with him. Throw in a couple of bad knees at an early age and I am not sure he is worth the risk. Maybe I am just a bitter owner who is tired of him being Kenny Dumb. Just hard to see light at the end of the tunnel when it appears the match blew out.

Can I ask how highly you rank or value him? I think everyone can agree he is worth something, especially a roster spot. But, if you are not concerned about the off-field problems, do you still value him as a high-end WR2? Or would you, if he didn't have injury issues?

Still no word on what suspension the commish might hand down? Does this latest situation change that likely suspension? Might he be looking at 6-8 games now?

He was probably looking at 6+ with or without the recent stupidity, considering the bullet he dodged last offseason d/t no CBA.

High-end WR2 sounds about right. I like to have a handful of guys on my dynasty rosters that I call 'wild cards' - guys that could blow up or could disappear. He's in that group, which means it's difficult to rank him among the other WRs. I'm definitely not relying on him to be a mainstay in the lineup anytime soon.

:goodposting:I'd have him as a borderline WR1 absent the knee injury, which IMO bumps him down into the WR2 range for "true" value. I'll buy all day long at WR3 prices or lower. Of course, I have also had some combination of Marshall, Dez, Lynch, Benson, Big Ben, Vick, etc. in most of my dynasty leagues, so I obviously care less than most about off field crap in general.
