Kenny Watson (1 Viewer)

I have never seen Watson run the ball, so I can't get a good read on what he might do in Rudi's stead. I have read that he was a former WR, so he may get 5-7 receptions in a high scoring affair like Monday night will probably be. However, the Pats front 7 has been shutting down Rbs this year.

You have to figure the Bengals will be forced to put up a lot of points, since their def won't be able to stop the Pats. And Watson very well could run in a short TD or even catch one out of the backfield.

My best guess...

15 carries for 51 yds

5 catches for 46 yds

1 rec td

Anyone else wanna take a shot?

I think Watson matches up against NE a lot better than Rudi would have. Watson is a receiving threat out of the backfield which will keep the defense on their toes a bit more.

14 rushes/63 yards

7 receptions/54 yards

1 TD

I think Watson is a very sneaky play this week who is going to surprise.

So far this year, the Pats have allowed:

Thomas Jones 48 yards from scrimmage

LT 58 yards from scrimmage

Lynch 80 yards from scrimmage

I have no choice but to start Watson in one league this week, but I would be shocked if he did better than the other backs that have faced the Pats this year.

Start knocking those predictions down.

True, things do look bleak. However, do you think the Pats focus will be on the Cincy outside passing game and therefore Watson can get some cheap rushing yards on draws and dumpoffs underneath

The problem I see for the Bengals is that the Pats should be able to have their way with the Bengals defense and IMO will have several sustained drives that will wear out the Cincy D.This would serve to keep the Bengals offense off the field but should also continue to raise the NE point total. That would limit the running opportunities and if Watson is going out ofr passes would leave Palmer open to getting blitzed.Sure, the Pats would rather give up dump off passes than bombs to Ocho or Housh, but some people here are forgetting that the Pats actually HAVE a defense. So far no one else has been able to move the ball consistently, and not having a ground game likely won't help any.The last time the two teams met, the Bengals had essentially the same players on offense and Rudi caught 3 balls for 26 yards and Watson had 1 for 16.
