Kevin Smith UCF RB Bandwagon! (1 Viewer)

I know he is only a junior, but if he comes out this year, I love him at the next level. He has great feet, runs with power, ad is a good receiver out of the backfield. I think he would be the 2nd best RB coming out behind McFadden. Is anyone else as high on this kid as I am?

I like Smith, but want to see more before I join the bandwagon. There is talk of him "exploring his options", and I expect him to think seriously on coming out. Much will depend on his "measurables" at the combine as to where he goes in the draft. But, Smith has been hugely productive in college.

After today's great game, he has about 2,600 yards and 30 TDs this season. Against Tulsa today, Smith ran 39 times for 284 yards and four scores.

Lots could change, but it looks like he may stay in school

Kevin Smith to return

"I've already got my class schedule for next semester," said Smith, who stuck around for a weightlifting session almost an hour after the Knights got off the practice field. "I don't know if anybody knows that yet or not, but I'll be back in school.

"Unless coach kicks me off the team, I'm going to be here and have my senior season," Smith continued. "I still have a lot to work on in football. It's great that I can run for some good numbers and that people are considering me for (the NFL), but that's just something that will drive me even harder in the offseason."

Not too smart on his part. You've gotta strike while the iron is hot. It's not like he's going to top those numbers next season. If he has a down year or gets hurt he could end up like a Lamont Jordan or Curtis Martin.

thanks, CN. That is what I read. I took that article and one other as him looking forward to seeing where he rates.

I'd be shocked if this guy comes back for his senior season. He's a beast. The number of carries he gets and he just gets stronger. We're not talking 30 carries a game, he can take 40. He should get more credit for what he is doing this season.

As for the NFL, I think he's got a great mix of speed and he can obviously handle a big workload.

I don't think he's coming back but he has been a blast to watch. It depends on whether he projects as a late 1st rounder - that seems to be the decider.

He has just carved through teams this year. 4.5 speed, makes people miss, and is a very very humble man and team player.

I know he plays in Conference USA but this guy has almost 2500 rushing yards. I think he should be in the discussion for the Heisman.

Here is the game-by-game stats with opponents. One thing to consider is the way the offense revolved around Smith. UCF completed six passes today and Smith ran the ball 39 times in the win.
