These guys are being drafted very close in most mock drafts.

They both are rookies with questionable O-lines.

The Lions may have the better offense this year, but the Bears should have a much better(healthy) defense.

Which do you prefer and why?

Kevin Smith by a landslide..

as far as I'm concerned, Chicago and SF have no draft-worthy players...

I'm staying away from Gore, Forte, Kevin Jones, any Chi or SF WR, any Chi or SF QB, etc..avoiding each team like the plague..

With the Chris Williams news, I think I'm leaning toward Smith. While Williams was drafted primarily for his pass blocking, his loss still drops the quality of the line overall, and less time in the passing game will likely reduce the converted first downs, and less opportunities for Forte in the long run. The Lions have a lot more weapons on offense, especially in the passing game, which will help open up the run.
