Kirwan's Mock 4.0 (1 Viewer)

Funny that he uses Sweed's experience to justify ranking him over Devin Thomas, as if those extra starts have any bearing whatsoever on his talent level.

It blows me away that some of these analysts have DAL taking WRs and RBs in the 1st round when anyone who watched them last year knows their need is in the secondary.

I'm not saying that Jerry Jones is Al Davis, but with Jerry pulling the strings the most logical, "need filling" pick is far from assured.

Dallas has a grand total of two corners on the roster. Both are getting up there in years. One has been injury prone and the other has some injury history too. Felix Felix Felix. It's become tiring for me. I seriously doubt it happens. WR, WR, WR... they are not rebuilding. They have the #4 passing attack in the league. It would be foolish to take a WR in the first round. There will be plenty of similar potential at WR in later rounds. They need DBs... a bunch of them. Pacman does not change this at all.

I'm officially in mock draft overload.

The draft cannot get here soon enough.

I keep wondering why he would have KC taking Ellis at #5 over the O-line help he mentions when KC has both Tank Tyler and Turk McBride both coming back for their second seasons. Yes, I do realize that they didn't exactly light it up last season but has KC decided to give up on one or both already? They are so thin at O-line that I just can't see them bypassing a Clady or Albert.

Technically, Dallas has zero running backs on the roster although MB3 pretty much has to sign his one year tender or sit out so it's assumed he will sign it. But they clearly have a need to add another RB in this draft that can contribute immediately. As for the CB position, they have Newman, Henry, Alan Ball, and Courtney Brown on the roster. Ball gets good reviews from his teammates and may be a guy ready to step in and play this year. If they add Pacman, CB is still a need but not quite as pressing.WR is also a need for them with Glenn's injury history. Who else is behind Owens and Crayton? Sam Hurd has potential but they clearly need to add another guy to that mix too. All 3 of those positions as well as safety are needs.

As a Bills fan I would be so psyched if the draft went his way.

DRC in the 1st and M.Kelly falling to us in the 2nd!!!!! Awesome.

And one of my other concernes about this draft is hoping the Raiders don't draft McFadden. I own Bush and I can't wait to see him make Fargas look like Fargas again.

IMO he's refering to readiness; The Eagles need someone to contribute quickly.

I agree. Once again I see what I feel are very unlikely landing spots in a mock for Mendelhall, Stewart and Felix, but it just seems like rehashing the same arguments.

Why does everyone keep thinking the Seahawks need a DT?!?!?!?

They have WAY more pressing needs on Offense: WR, TE, OG, RB

LOL at the experts sometimes. I agree SEA should be looking at RB. I think the WRs in this draft leave a lot to be desired. Anyone desperate enough to draft a WR in the 1st is just that, desperate.

its would be a good draft, if a player they may have been looking at at 1.11 (before kelly's stock dropped), falls a full round later...i can also see how CHI would be happy with otah & forte...

Correct on all counts, but those practice squad CBs are not even close to comfortable for a championship caliber team like this. I expect them to take an RB early. I'm just worn out on Felix Felix Felix which is pretty clearly a nod to the Arkansas connection. Here they pass on Stewart for a WR, then take Felix. No. Please no. That would just be silly, but it doesn't matter. Stewart will be long gone, so they can't make that mistake. Crayton is fine. Hurd is coming along nicely. Austin has plenty of potential. Stanback is a freak talent learning the position. Sure they need to add some competition to the mix, but they have far more pressing needs.

Looks to me like the Ravens need to try and trade down out of that spot. Getting just about anything would be worth it because there's no one that would even think of Ryan until pick 13 with Carolina. The Cards, Lions, Panthers and Broncos all have need at RB. If they can get these teams nervous about a run, Baltimore could trade down and still be assured of getting Ryan.

ryan could go to the jets (if not ATL or KC)...if BAL thinks they need but could drop a few picks & still get him that would be a shrewd move, though that wouold be taking a chance that soeone doesn't trade UP in front of them...

He's not to far off from what I see the Niners doing. I could see Connor in the first and then coming back with Trevor Laws in the second. I would say it's even more probable that it's one of the those two players along with the OT that they grade out the highest at that point.

I disagree. Seattle has to let the draft come to them and not corner themselves by only drafting certain positions. Seattle has enough needs that they can go many different ways and get value in those picks rather than setting themselves on having to draft a RB or WR.

I don't think he's going to ATL. The fanbase is already against him and that is Blank's number one problem as team owner: PR. Dorsey would please the fanbase, work right away, and improve pieces on the defense and the defense as a whole. Assuming he's healthy.KC has bigger needs on both sides of the line and they know it. Also, I don't think Huard or Croyle have worn out their welcome to the point that KC would ignore other glaring needs to draft a shaky prospect to compete with them. The Jets are kinda in the same boat with Clemens. Chances are DMC will be there, and I don't think Ryan would help their offense as much as he would. The only team I could see trading down is the Pats. Ryan would be a reasonable pick at 7, but who would trade up to snag him in front of Baltimore? The only teams I see are the Panthers if they have decided that Delhomme is never going to be healthy (this would make more sense than their Mendenhall pick) but if Baltimore sent out feelers that they want to trade down, teams would be likely to work with them rather than the Pats because of the money they would save from the 7th to the 8th overall. I think that Ryan will fall to Baltimore, and that they will then be able to possibly trade down. However, if they don't trade with Carolina, they pose a risk of losing Ryan to them, so they would have to either agree to a draft-and-trade deal or get assurance that Carolina does not draft Ryan at their spot.

Love all the 2nd round RBs for fantasy purposes.
4 rbs in the 1st and 4 in the 2nd. That seems like a lot to me, but yeah good for FF.
Oh sure. Not commenting on the accuracy, more on the fun.
Would be better for FF if they went to places they'd produce. Stewart to SD? :bag:

I hate the idea of going CB for the Bengals. I would hope they move up if necessary to get Ellis/Dorsey. Their interior DL has been a problem for years (decades?) I think I would rather have Ray Rice if they really feel the need to go RB in 2.

I think he has nailed the last 3 GB picks, but I just don't see them taking Brohm. I also don't think they are going to take a cb like everyone expects either. Who knows. Brohm actually fits Thompson's philosophy there, but Rodgers is his guy. It wouldn't shock me if he took a rb or another d-lineman. I would prefer he trades the pick to ATL and picks up more.
