Kolby v Raiders (1 Viewer)

Just curious but did anybody watch the game? I didn't so I have no idea how he looked. His stats are good but how much of the credit goes to Smith and how much credit belongs to the poor Raiders' D?
I didn't see the game either but the fact that Chester Taylor look like Gale Sayers the prior week against the Raiders is something that can't be overlooked. Taylor ran for 22-164-3 (7.45 ypc) and the following week against the Giants with a blowout the entire game came down to earth with 31-77-1 (2.48 ypc). The Raiders rush defense is dead last in every rushing stat, 18 tds against (5 more than the next worst) and 5.0 ypc (.3 more than the next worst). One good thing in Smith's favor is that his next two opponents are SD (whose run defense has softened this year) and Denver (who's bad).

I think it's fair that his production is ultimately a product of the Raiders defense.

However, he looked very impressive, and that's to someone who was critical of him before the game. Just check the highlights at NFL.com if you didn't catch the game. He was very shifty and elusive, had some nice moves and displayed great power. One of the things you'll see out of a kid like Kolby Smith is non-stop effort and refusal to go down. Every yard he makes out of nothing may help to get him more playing time in future.

Success or failure, I doubt I'll be questioning the guy's effort any time soon. It was very refreshing to see.
