Kurt Coleman the SS in PHI (1 Viewer)

Wasn't Coleman benched a few weeks ago?

Here it is: benched as FS during week 3 after the Victor Cruz fiasco. link

So now he's back at SS. Gotta think this is Jarrett's job soon.

We already know that Coleman is not the answer. He may start this week but is clearly no better than Page. I see this going one of several ways, Coleman starts and stinks it up again, in which case they may go to Jarrett during the game. If they loose, they may as well stick with Jarrett at 1-5 since he is clearly their hope for the future at SS. If Jarrett plays well and they win, it is Jarrett's job. If they win without Jarrett playing and Coleman struggles, they go back to Page when healthy.

Regardless of how it plays out I don't see a scenario where Coleman becomes the long term or even short term answer beyond the next game or two. I think either Page comes back or we see Jerrett very soon.

Coleman has a chance to stick. he was playing resonable well in preseason making plays all over the field. The eagles were very disappointed early on with Nate Allen coming off the injury and put Page in the lineup while Nate got backup to speed. Page can only pretty much play SS and they were hoping Coleman would be able to handle FS and it didn't work out. they seem to trust Nate again at now move Coleman back to SS. if he falters then jarrett surely will get his shot.

By everything I've read, it appears that both Coleman and Jarrett are going to split time. So it looks like Jarrett will get a shot as well. I'm guessing that Jarrett will get the job full-time but it probably won't be for a few weeks. There is nothing special about Coleman.

its all dependent on how the defense does and if the team starts winning to determine how long Coleman keeps the job. as we seen with page the one special thing there may be with Coleman is a great spot for production. the eagles LB'er are not going to improve greatly and the undersized DE wide-9 approach are going to leave plenty of opportunity for the SS. the eagles safeties can be interchangeable, but that goes out the window when they have a guy play well or fit a spot moreso than the rest. If Nate Allen is rounding into form close to where he was prior to injury then he'll definetly stick at and a more true FS. Brian Dawkins/Mikell weren't interchangeable they stayed as SS closer to or in the box leaving the FS deep. side note: how much do they regret not resigning Mikell now? Even Ernie Simms would prolly help now. he was totally undisciplined but the dude was pretty decent as a physical presense in run support

What's been the book on Jarrett so far? This summer, if I recall, most people were expecting him to take the starting role from day 1. Has he just been slow to pick up the scheme?

He definitely earned the start next week.

Don't underestimate Coleman. Yet another Ohio State DB that is doing well in the NFL, although he was not nearly as highly drafted as some of the other ones (Malcolm Jenkins, Donte Whitner, etc...)We definitely miss Coleman from our team - he was a play-maker the past 3 years for us.

is there a emoticon or a GIF of a blind squirrel finding a nut?

I think if he stays on the Strong Side he will, they already learned once he can't play FS. Once Allen is healthy and back at FS the question is will they start Jarrett over Koleman as the SS? I don't think that will happen till next year at the earliest. So in that case he's probably gonna keep racking up these nice games...

Looking at waiver wire and both Page and Coleman are available. Coleman seems to have had two big weeks in weeks 9 and 10. For rest of season, which would be thest best one for tackle heavy league? Thanks.

so..what happened???LOL

Two great games...I pick him up and nuffin'!

For those wh have been following more than box scores (like me), what was different last game?

Trend or mirage?

He stepped it up again. 11 tackles. I'm not sure how he actually looks in real life but his fantasy production has been stunning.

Philly fans seem to think this guy sucks in actual football. Meaning his fantasy production is in danger of ending after this season? Is he a dynasty sell high or are the fans just bitter about the team in general?

I think the consensus from the beginning was he was just keeping the seat warm for Jaiquawn Jarrett. I don't know if this still holds true, but I wouldn't bet against it. As for sucking, I do see him missing a few tackles, granted I'm not a philly homer, but other than that I don't think he's downright terrible...

he's pretty bad. Misses tackles, blows coverage. He's passable as a SS. He started the season at FS until they realized he can't cover anyone. Marginally better at SS but his tackling is pretty poor. He is a fine Special team player though
