Kurt Warner from here on out.. (1 Viewer)

Is Warner a must start as long as he's healthy without regard to who he's playing? Thoughts on his schedule? If he makes it out alive from the Atlanta and Chicago games he could be tough, though not sure if I like Seattle/Denver in playoffs.

Sep 10 San Francisco Won 34-27

Sep 17 @Seattle Lost 10-21

Sep 24 St. Louis

Oct 1 @Atlanta

Oct 8 Kansas City

Oct 16 Chicago

Oct 22 @Oakland

Oct 29 @Green Bay

Week 9 BYE

Nov 12 Dallas

Nov 19 Detroit

Nov 26 @Minnesota

Dec 3 @St. Louis

Dec 10 Seattle

Dec 17 Denver

Dec 24 @San Francisco

Now compare that to Grossman, who I thought had NO shot of continuing as hot as he was. But look at this freakin' schedule..

Sep 10 @Green Bay Won 26-0

Sep 17 Detroit Won 34-7

Sep 24 @Minnesota

Oct 1 Seattle

Oct 8 Buffalo

Oct 16 @Arizona

Week 7 BYE

Oct 29 San Francisco

Nov 5 Miami

Nov 12 @N.Y. Giants

Nov 19 @N.Y. Jets

Nov 26 @New England

Dec 3 Minnesota

Dec 11 @St. Louis

Dec 17 Tampa Bay

Dec 24 @Detroit

He gets all of his toughest defenses at home (Seattle/Buffalo/Tampa Bay). Lots of sieve pass D's on that schedule..

He's going to get injured.

Leinart will take over and never look back.

Warner's Oct. 1 game in Atlanta will be tough, but other than that, he should put up great numbers. (if healthy) Which is always a big "IF".

I have Brady as my starter but am thinking about trying to swing a trade with the Warner/Leinart owner, and was wondering this same question earlier...

Warner going forward...The defense still sucks so there should be plenty of passes thrown, and we all know about the weapons.

Will the Arizona QB (whoever it happens to be) finish top 10 in QBs?

He's going to get injured. Leinart will take over and never look back.
But what if you had him and Leinart? Would you feel comfortable starting one of them every week with their schedule?
I do have both, and will probably start Warner every week he's healthy. I'm not sold on starting Leinart if / when he takes over this year until he shows he can play at this level. FWIW, my #2 is Roethlisberger, who I'm pretty sure will improve from his MNF game. I said it before the year, and repeatedly, a healthy Warner is a top 10 FF QB.

Warner's an every week start IMO.

You've got to have an insurance policy with Warner. Given you probably didn't make Warner a relatively high pick, you probably have solid insurance there.

Leinart won't be far behind either. The one thing I love about Matt is that he trusts his WR's. He'll throw the ball up and let his WR's make plays (something a lot of QB's simply don't do). That throw to Jarrett at the end of the ND game is a throw that 3/4th's of the starting QB's in the NFL couldn't and wouldn't have the nuts to make in that situation.

Dynasty wise, Leinart's easily in my Top 10 QB's in that situation. I don't believe he even has to be the greatest QB ever to be an every week stud within a couple years.

If Warner goes down this year, at worst IMO Leinart's a solid backup.

I have both and am prepared to roll with either one since Brooks has busted. I liked Leinart over some of the worst starters on draft day (Losman, Frye, Etc). That late week 9 bye turned out to be great. I can see where I'm at around week 7 instead of having to sell something to get a QB in week 3 or 4 if Arz had an early season bye.

I own both AZ quarterbacks and wouldn't feel bad about putting Leinart in there based on matchup. I have another QB backing up Warner, so it's not like I'd be forced to do it weekly, but with those receivers I don't think Leinart would exactly fall off a table from a production standpoint vs. Warner anyway.

The Cards' schedule is pretty favorable, so ignoring Leinart as a potential "weekly starter" if Warner were to go down for the season would be hasty, to say the least. He may have a few games where he'd look like your typical rookie QB, but with those weapons he'd probably put up similar #s to Warner more often than not.

Bit the bullet as I could not stand looking at Bulger struggle in that offense one more week. I hate two yard passes. Say what you will about Warner, but as long as that bastage is upright he is winging it downfield. Fun to watch. Picked up Warner in a trade, then snagged Leinart off the wire. The game I'm worried about is not Chicago, it's Atlanta. On the road, on turf, Abraham and company with ears pinned. If Warner makes it through that game, I'll be a happy camper. It really looks like Leinart will not miss a beat if he gets the chance anyway. :banned:

BUMP.

Based on the Top 250 Forward, Dodds doesn't even think that he's worth rostering except as a QB3 is most leagues. This seems a bit pessimistic to me. What's the Shark Pool consensus? Is he still a viable fantasy QB, is it "buyer beware"?

I just dropped him after the Leinart rumor came out and am going with McNair/Plummer. Even after the news that he is still the starter, I don't want him and nobody has picked him yet in a very competitive 12-team league.

WOW.Its hard for me to believe nobody is willing to give him a roster spot in your very competitive 12 man league. I think he has the potential to put up great numbers from here on out IF he can keep the job. And there is a decent possibility he can keep the job.

It seems like everyone is too scared to even waste a spot on him right now. Especially since he's facing Atlanta this week and guys are having to juggle due to bye weeks. Our league evened out the positions through some wacky scoring and most guys are carrying 2-3 TE's when they normally might take a chance with him as a 3rd QB.

Right right. I would personally rather carry Warner as a 3rd QB over carrying any 3rd TE. JMO. I really dont know much about your league either. gl2u.

This is crazy talk. Warner is worth a roster spot and so is Leinart.

One game overreaction. Just like last week when everyone dropped Plummer, then he comes back with a nice game and he's waiver wire darling all over again. They have to get through Atlanta and Chicago. After that, the matchups, and system, are too good from a passing standpoint NOT to have the AZ quarterback.

Kurt Warner has owned the Falcons (albeit with a different team)6-0 career record (18 TD, 5 int)3 or more TDs in 5 of 6 games275 or more yards in 5 of 6 games (300+ in 3)
