Fwiw, in a 12 team redraft league (standard scoring all td's 6 pts, turnovers -3) I just moved Warner for Torry Holt. Could of had Eddie Royal instead. The problem with trading Warner is, although he's putting up top 5 qb #'s, no one puts him in the same class as guys like Romo, Brees, Peyton, Cutler. Despite his #'s, everyone still puts him in the 2nd tier of QB's with Rivers, Rodgers, Eli, Big Ben, etc. The recent retirement talk doesn't help his value either.Johnny Utah #9 said:Well, as funny as this thread may be, and it did kind of turn into a pissing match between guys who love Kurt more than his muppet wife Brenda and USC fanboys wanting to get in the hot tub with their dreamy QB hero, nobody here really addressed one of the original questions asked... what's Warner's value right now?
Warner may be putting up top 5 fantasy numbers, but due to the many reasons discussed here, he doesn't seem to hold that same trade value in fantasy leagues.
For instance, is giving up a RB2 like Steve Slaton too much for Kurt Warner? And yes, I do have a vested interest in this question. And before the thread nazis tell me to redirect it to another forum, I'll save them the trouble and post the link where I'm dealing with this issue. Any opinions on this are welcome here.... http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index...howtopic=429859
The trick is to find an owner that doesn't have a 1st or 2nd tier qb, and there's likely only 1 or 2 teams that fit this profile in most 12 team leagues. When you factor in that there will be other teams which have 2 tier 1 and/or tier 2 qb's on their roster, and thus could also be willing to move a tier 2 qb, QB supply and demand isn't going to be in most Warner owners' favor in the vast majority of leagues.
Warner owners looking for a big payday are mostly going to be disappointed, imo. The only real way to maximize value in a trade is to deal Brees, Romo, or whatever other tier 1 qb you have, and keep Warner as your starter.
