Kyle Orton Owners (1 Viewer)

He would have cost me if not bye.

I will be going with Schaub if he survives tonight vs Raveners. Otherwise i will go with someone on the wire.

Have to start him next week, in my dynasty league my two backups are on IR. BTW, off topic but not worth a new thread. Anyone know why the Orton fumble yesterday was credited to him and not Knowshon?

Interim coach was on Sirius NFL Radio this morning with Bob Papa and Peter King, both of whom peppered him with questions about Tebow. He did not say Tebow would play this season, but did not give any vote of confidence for Orton. He basically said “we’re looking at all options that give us the best chance to win”. Look for Tebow behind center week 15. Between the local pressure in Denver and the media pressure as well, I think it’s a foregone conclusion that Tebow either starts or comes on in relief.

I think there is a good chance we see Tebow in w16 at home against Houston.

Well I survived the Orton debacle and still made it to the playoffs. I will never make that mistake again. I'm still shocked at how well he was doing earlier in the year but all good things come to an end I guess.

I have Orton in 2 leagues, still in the playoffs for both of them. In one, I have Schaub and that seems like a no-brainer to put Schaub in, but in the other league my only other option is Fitzpatrick and he doesn't have a great matchup either (@ MIA - 6th against the pass) so not sure what I'm going to do there, although right now if I had to guess I would say Fitzpatrick.

Same boat here – not going with Orton but have to decide between Fitzpatrick and Bradford. Both of these guys have fizzled down the stretch – not as much as Orton - but they’re still not very appealing. Close call but I may end up going with Fitzpatrick as he usually gets nice rushing yards.

I'm a believer in Kyle Orton but if you have other options I would strongly consider using them. A free agent like Kerry Collins is worth a shot against the Texans secondary.

After sorting through about 8-10 equally mediocre/risky options, I think I’m going with Kerry Collins, just based on matchup alone. Here are the Texans defensive stats that sealed the deal for me:

- worst in the NFL with 29 passing TD’s allowed

- worst in the NFL with 279.9 passing yards/game allowed

- 3rd worst in the NFL with 27.3 points/game allowed

The fact that the Titans are a run first team does scare me, but this is mitigated by the fact that many of the other options bear a huge risk of being pulled mid game, for either performance issues (McNabb, Hasselbeck, Alex Smith, Henne) or injury reaggravation risk (Cassel). Unless Collins is hurt, highly doubtful he is pulled for Rusty Smith.

Sounds like we can drop Orton at this point - especially if your league only plays through week 16. Would be an extremely risky start in 1 or 2 QB leagues.

I meant that if you are in a 2 QB start league like mine he could still be risky unless you have a QB1 that was capable of putting up numbers to carry you (I started Vick/Orton the past two weeks and still won my matchups).

Oh i got ya. Yeah this week it doesn't look good. Bruised ribs or something is holding him back from throwing down field. I wouldn't trust him. I would go with someone like Collins or even Joe Webb if I had to take a chance on someone left on waivers.
