L.J. Smith Having Strong Camp (1 Viewer)

I think a lot of people have forgotten just how good this guy was before McNabb's injury last year. He looks like a very nice TE value late in the drafts I've seen so far.

From RotoWire:

Smith continues to have an impressive camp, limiting his dropped passes and strengthening his rapport with Donovan McNabb, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Smith split two defenders before grabbing a 20-yard scoring strike from McNabb during Thursday's practice, a scene that is becoming common during training camp. "It all depends on how confident and comfortable [McNabb] is with me," Smith said. "I have to be in the right spots, and if he wants me, I'll be there." McNabb loves to throw to his tight end, so we wouldn't be surprised if Smith's production sees the greatest increase of the team's pass catchers with Terrell Owens out of the mix.

Good to hear

Been targeting him in many leagues. A top-5 finish would not be out of the question and I get the feeling that he may just outproduce those TE's going 1-2 rounds earlier. Huge PPR value--> especially in anarchy (2pt/reception)

I agree. I think Top 5 is very possible for Smith this year. I had him last year and he was great before McNabb's injury. He's my top late-round TE target.

I was at Eagles training camp on Monday and LJ didn't impress me at all. I watched him drop 2 really easy passes. I'm not sold on LJ.

Keep an eye on Eagles WR Hank Basket. The rookie from New Mexico that the Eagles traded the Vikings for. He was making nasty catches all over the place. If he makes the team he might be a contributor in this offense, espically since the Eagles have a collection of mediocre/garbage WRs.
