LaMont Jordan-RB- Raiders Nov. 18 - 9:45 pm et

The Oakland Tribune indicates LaMont Jordan is a candidate for release if the Raiders promote Michael Bush (leg) to the active roster this week.

Bush must be activated from the Non-Football Injury list by Wednesday or he'll go on I.R. Jordan doesn't have value on special teams and did not dress for Sunday's game. We suspect he'd be quickly snatched up after getting cut, but would be unlikely to make an immediate impact for another team.

So what are the possible outcomes for Lamont? Does he have to clear waivers then he's eligible for pick up? Why wouldn't a team like GB take a shot on him? He's still got something left imo.

I'd like to bump this, dynasty Jordan and mike bush owner here. There are a few teams that could use Jordan for a playoff push, and will Bush get a chance to start any games for the Raiders?

If he is waived, then another team can pick him up. They would have to assume the current contract though. If he were to clear waivers, then...he is a FA and could go to any team that he wants...that would give him a contract. I would bet that he would be signed for the remainer of this season by a team and then be a FA this off-season.Here is a scary thought....he clears waivers and then is signed by the Patriots.

Whether or not the rumor is true, it's amazing how fast things change. Lamont got off to a great start, looking like the steal of FF drafts, and now this.

Unless Bush shows something, I can see the Raiders being one of the players for Michael Turner's services next year.

what the hell did this guy do to get in the doghouse so fast?
I'm not close to the situation, but it sounds like the injury initially set him back. Still, clearly he seemed to PO the coaching staff beyond the injury, as he seems to be healthy now.

I hope Turner is smart enough to not go there no matter what $ they throw at him...

The fat man got his payday. He's now strictly veteran minimum backup material.
He was running well and then he hurt his back and then he was gone? What really happened?
This is what I would like to know!!
I think he's not Kiffin's guy - he was held over from another - very unsuccessful regime - and I don't think Kiffin has any real loyalty to him as opposed to a draft pick liek Bush, who Kiffin chose. Now, couple that with Jordan's contract and I wouldn't be shocked if Kiffin had a quick pull with a guy he didn;t chose in the first place.Maybe - I dunno either - dude went from penthouse to outhouse damned quick.

*edited to add - this is all just supposition by me. Not a fact or article to suppoprt. Just an opinion.

Turner is undoubtedly looking for some good coin - if it's the Raiders offering him it, I'm sure he'll take it. If Russell is anywhere in the stratosphere as his draft position turned out to be, the team has room for improvement.

Jordan could definately perform bette rin another atmosphere. He is an excellent runnign back, or at least has been. He played this week didnt he, 159 yards. He got dropped in my league so he may be my WW gem if he gets traded (second time he was dropped this year).

InsideBayArea.com reports Oakland Raiders HC Lane Kiffin explained RB LaMont Jordan's deactivation after the loss to the Vikings. "It was just a decision," Kiffin said. "We had to pull up a special teams guy at the last minute, so we dressed four running backs today." Jordan said his back is fine. "I'm very healthy," Jordan said. "I feel great." When asked why he wasn't playing, Jordan said, "Like I was told, it's not about yards. I'm in the position I'm in because I haven't been performing." Jordan said he didn't know how to get back in the good graces of the coaching staff. "I just approach it the way I have been," Jordan said. "Just keep my mouth shut the best I can and just go to work every day. I'm still getting a paycheck so I still have to show up for work." The Raiders are expected to activate fourth-round pick RB Michael Bush, who is in the final days of a 21-day exemption after being on the Physically Unable to Perform list. That could jeopardize Jordan's position on the team. :football:

Even if Russell was Brady, it's still Oakland, and they still suck.

That's what we all used to say about Cleveland.

Jordan would look good with the Patriots.

i think the Texans would be wise to pick him up if available. Ron Dayne ain't gonna get it done for them, and they're not eliminated from playoffs yet at 5-5. with AJ's return, there's a chance they could run the table.

How do the waivers work? In reverse order of standings? I am curious as to who would have first crack at him IF he was released. I don't remember anyone with skills in recent history being released like LaMont is rumored to be.

Ron Dayne HAS gotten it done for them in the past; not sure what is the basis of your claim that he won't.

I may be off-base but why would they drop Jordan and possibly let him go to a division rival??? Wouldn't it be smarter to cut Walters??? The fact that Russell hasn't started yet leads me to believe that Kiffin is in over his head. I just keep seeing horrible decisions by this guy.

the raiders need to worry about the Raiders. if they planned to cut Jordan they shouldn't change their minds based on the possibility that the Chiefs MIGHT pick him up off waivers. That's stupid, they have their own problems, they need to take care of them.

Seriously.Plus, If Jordan isn't even good enough to suit up for the Raiders, wouldn't they WANT KC to snatch him up? By not dressing him on a team that could use RB help, they're sending out the message that he basically sucks. One would think they'd love nothing more than a divisiion rival to fail with Jordan. If he's good and they're not playing him for some other reason, then doesn't this make the coaches look like they have no clue what they're doing?

YEah the guy was leading the league in rushing got hurt and now sucks....right....I think the Raiders organization is more the problem and until Al Davis is gone it will be a black hole for players
