Lance Moore (1 Viewer)

I know he's flying under the radar (which will probably be evidenced by the relatively few looks this thread gets), but there's something I like about this kid. He's been impressing the Saints staff since training camp and just might find his way into the starting lineup soon.

After being used exclusively on special teams in week 1, he was targeted 5 times in week 2, and 10 times week 3. He's hauled in 9 passes for 100 yards, more than any other receiver except Colston (yes, Eric Johnson has more receptions but 2 fewer yards).

The Saints offense is hurting right now and with Deuce out, they might find themselves frequently playing from behind and forced to throw the ball more than they'd like. David Patten is struggling with turf-toe, and Devery Henderson is in the dog-house while suffering through the dropsies. There's no reason to believe that Moore can't earn more playing time and become a bigger part of this offense.

I'm not really sure why the Saints might not put him on the field more just to see what this kid could do. He was undrafted out of Toledo and is in his second year, but has stuck thus far and is showing to be an NFL quality player. He reminds me of another slightly built, unheralded receiver out of college who started off in special teams but turned himself into a pretty solid receiver...Wes Welker.

I'm keeping a really close eye on this guy and am even tempted to pick him up before week 5 when the Saints play Carolina. After that I feel he might be the hot waiver wire pick of the week.

Anyone have any thoughts or opinions on this guy or the opportunities he may or may not have within the Saints WR corps?

i think he really helped his case over the last two weeks. he got playing time and positive results followed. i think he'll be battling with patten though. he's got a good upside, especially given how cheaply he can be had.

I just switched out Henderson for Moore in one league.

I didnt want to keep Hendy at his current pace.

Would have moved him for someone else anyway.

I'll take a chance at getting Moore before he does something nice this week.

Im more then willing to cut Moore also for another player in the coming days.

It could be Copper or Patten. Patten is likely, but he is to limited for what I want.
I liked Moores potential more then the other options and certainly think he could get lots of catches if the offense starts to click a little better.

Acutally drafted him in my dynasty free agent drafts as well as picked him up last week in others. He may start to pay some dividends as a nice flex WR4 in deep leagues. Maybe more?

He has shown he catches just about everything thrown near him.

He's already owned in the dynasty leagues I play in... but somehow is still under the radar. I like him potentially to outproduce Devery Henderson.

Lance Moore looks more heart than talent to me. He'll be an afterthought by mid-season.
Really?Well look nor further than Wes Welker. Ton's of heart. Not a ton of skill. Miami picked him up off the scrap heap. So take that for what's it's worth.Moore has some skills otherwise he would be working a normal job. This is the NFL. Not college. You don't make a team and actually play by accident. especially when your a guy like Lance Moore or Wes Welker for that matter. Both are small and not exactly the proto typical WR's that play on NFL teams. Not saying Moore will be the next Wes Welker but he sure looks like he has that kind of upside to do some damage as a deep WR4 flex.He won't be forgotten by mid season as long as he continues to contribute.

My guess is that some people pick up Moore during the bye week thinking he will be the WR2 in NO. A lot of people will cut Devery Henderson in the mean time. Then after the next game, it will be Henderson that does well & everyone will drop Moore for Henderson.

The Saints WR corps after Colston is a cluster#####. I'm staying away.

Could you of waited until 6:00 central time until my waivers ran today to post this? LOL

BTW - Im very high on this kid. I think if you have room on your Dynasty roster then he would be a great move.

Moore looks like to me the #2 that brees id looking more often to aas the weeks go by. I think hes worth a flier to at least see what happens after the bye week.

I know Wes Welker, and Lance Moore, sir, is not Wes Welker. He is David Tyree.
 Wes Welker does have skill. He's quick, smart and has great hands.
I see the exact same qualities in Moore. Welker got his chance...now Lance Moore is getting his.
