Lance Moore (1 Viewer)

In our local Comcast Fantasy Fix show this week, Adam Schein (Sirrius?) picked Lance Moore as his sleeper this week. I know he's a NO WR but where is the world did he come up with him as his sleeper? Is he getting that many reps in NO?

My sleeper of the week as well. 10 looks in Week 3. 5-6 the week before. Had a very solid preseason as well. Good route runner, good speed and CAN CATCH THE FOOTBALL (cough Henderson)

Possible Wes Welker-lite.

I've never heard of the guy and I thought I knew just about every name that got tossed about in the Shark Pool. That's a solid number of targets-anyone know anything about the kid?

He had 0 passes thrown his way in week one, 5 in week two and ten in week 3. He does kick returns as well, so leagues that give points for that should take note.

It seems he is either a second or third year wr.

kind of hi-jacking, and maybe the wrong forum, would you insert him in your FF lineup with Colston?

I'm a Saints fan (sigh). Before the season started, Brees mentioned Lance Moore as being the "MVP of Traning Camp" or something like that.

Actually, here is the article.

From watching all of the Saints games so far, he seems like a good receiver, with good hands, but a little short, and didn't seem to have the quick/shifty movements that you normally expect from short/fast guys.

He could be a good sleeper, because the Saints are at a point where they are probably going to start giving the hungrier players a chance to play, if players like Henderson don't start playing more consistently. But, frankly, I think he's a pretty deep sleeper. If you're looking that deep for help, you might want to look at a WR3 from one of the offenses that seem to be on the cusp of producing (Lions, Browns, Chiefs, Bills, etc.)

I think this makes it clear how he is a sleeper. He did fairly well in his last game.

1) Devery Henderson, David Patten are all battling injuries,

2) Deuce is out for the year which most likely means relying on the pass.

3) Moore has had the targets the past two weeks.

4) Brees can't play worse than he has

Moore has had two solid football weeks. 3 rec 46 yds and 6rec 54 yds plus he returns kicks or punts, not sure which one he does.

I'm in a ppr league that also rewards some points for returns he has been a solid #3 for those 2 weeks.

You too can Stop Henry...... T H R E A D S

I like this guy in PPR leagues this week. He's been very involved of late and Payton keeps talking about how he needs to get the ball more to Moore. I don't like him as much in standard scoring leagues because I'm not sure he has much TD potential but in PPR leagues he should be good for at least 4 receptions and 45 yards this week which would make him a decent WR4 with some WR3 upside if he is more involved or Brees has a big game.

concur6 for 69

I believe he only had about 4 targets last game.
And he caught 3 of them. He's had 19 targets in the past three games, catching 12 of them. With Devery Henderson having issues catching the ball Payton said this week he was going to rotate guys in the No. 2 WR role. That means more snaps for Moore and if Payton holds true to his comments about wanting to get the ball more to Moore he could be looking at a very good game against Seattle.

Besides the reasons mentioned another reason to keep an eye on Moore is Colstons health as he missed the second half of last weeks game and has had some ongoing back and knee issues. I know the discussion this off season was trying to locate who the next Colston. I don't think it's Moore but it's not a bad place to look for a diamond in the rough than a team who gave us last years diamond and with a player who the coach is all but saying he is going to give a chance to step up.

D Bowe in KC is this year's Colston. Without doubt.

I disagree. Bowe was a first-round pick. Colston a seventh. Bowe is expected to be an impact player. That's why he was taken in the first round. Few people, if any, honestly saw Colston coming the way he did last season.

I was going to say the same thing. Sure Bowe exceeded expectations but just because you do well as a rookie WR does not make you the next Colston. To be next Colston you need to come from basically no were. As an example every league I played in this year saw Bowe get drafted while no league I played in last year saw Colston get drafted.

Fair enough. I only had production from a first year WR in mind.

I see why he would be considered the next Colston and it is something you could debate. If Calvin Johnson were doing what Bowe is doing he would not be the next Bowe because his ADP suggested a lot of people expected him to. That's not really the case with Bowe who people felt had potential but I don't think to many expected this kind of production. To me Bowe is more the next Boldin, a high draft pick who is a lot better a lot faster than anyone thought he could be.

Good game last night by Lance Moore. He scored a TD and the coaching staff seems to like him.

Drew Brees comment about him being the "Preseason MVP" was the right analogy - he seems to play very hard.

Somewhere in the broadcast, it was mentioned that Brees considers Moore his "Most trusted WR" or something to that effect.. Not sure if that was speculation or if it came in an interview with Brees..

Madden said that during the game. The TD from Moore was great (especially considering it was on a running play) but I was surprised he wasn't more involved in the passing game. Patten got a ton of looks and had a big game. I wonder if that game might've helped him stake a claim to the No. 2 WR role. I think it's down to Moore or Patten. Henderson seems to be falling out of favor. Pulling himself out of the game Sunday night probably didn't help his standing any either. The other thing I noticed about Moore - and Madden mentioned this too - was that he didn't look to make yards after the catch. He caught the ball and immediately went down. He needs to keep looking for more production after the catch.
