Ya, brutal move lol
I know you have a ton of holes (including QB) but I thought the wr position was one squad that was "okay" status quo.  Trading picks and now having to sign him to a big deal doesnt make sense to me.  He just isnt worth that.

I think this is a real nice addition for the Browns...first of all their cap situation (and draft pick situation) is so gigantic money (or losing a pick or two) is not an issue...especially if it's a player like Landry who while he will get overpaid he'll bring it every game...zero chance of him busting, he plays too hard...secondly, the Browns need to find their franchise QB in this draft and having a WR like Landry is only a positive in that QB's development...

Great way to convince a Kirk Cousins to sign, no?

Show Kirk those weapons, saquon and a payday... He's ours.

Well, they have the room, and Gordon and Coleman (and Njoku) are all still on rookie deals.  The same may be true of their starting RB and possibly QB here soon, too.

I like you, I like your posts so I am going to put this to you gently.  Cousins is not going to Cleveland.  I will eat my hat if that happens.  Its not even a remote possibility.

They should get Chubb at one and then have their pick of qb at 4 and then a good RB (if thats what they think they need) with their 3rd pick.  They can really really set themselves up if they dont go all Cleveland

they need some experience in the offense but especially in the passing game. he can help provide a steadying influence on a young team.

Landry's dynasty value takes a hit, imo.  Landry is a legit talent, so I'll be buying if there is an overreaction.  But this is not what his owners wanted to see.

And Cleveland just because a slightly less appealing landing spot for Barkley.

The guy who walked off the field week 17 on a far superior team is definitely the right guy to be guiding a young team coming off a 16 loss season. Will love seeing the Browns fans lose their minds when he is targeted twice as much as Gordon and stalling their drives out.

I think it's a great move for Cleveland.    Great value as well.    3rd rounder is a shot in the dark.    They have space, and opportunity.

And they suck still, so you should still see plenty of garbage fantasy points in catch up mode.

Gordon is dangerous and the club might have lost faith jjn Coleman dropping balls in the last game he played (Pittsburgh game?)

Love it for the Browns.    Dolphins have a stable of wrs in Parker, stills, and Carol still

Brutal.  Miami fleeced them.
Fleeced?

A top WR, an absolute necessity (possession/ppr guy) for a 3rd rounder, is fleeced?

What WR are you throwing a dart at in the 3rd to end up anywhere enar Landry's talent?

Landry isnt that good and now they have to pay him 16/year.  WR was the least of their holes.
Per Pat Mac: Two tidbits on Jarvis Landry: Only Antonio Brown and Julio Jones have more catches than he has since he arrived in 2014, and he led NFL w/ 112 receptions in ’17. Browns have never had 100-catch WR.

Bro... take a breather.

That tells me a lot of things actually.

If you think he is in that tier of top wideouts then I dont know what to tell you.  His YPC is stupid low which tells me the offense was basically dink and dunk to him up the field and then in the red zone he gets shut out.  He rarely goes deep and is just mainly a bulk underneath guy.  Not worth the salary or what they gave up

Didnt he have like 9 TDs last year??  Guessing those were all redzone

Just think if........and its a big if.....but if, they cold sign Cousins, draft Barkley at 1 and Nelson at 4. They would be looking at a scary offense and still a lot of cap room to get more help on defense.

At 8.8 ypr last season. Coming in at 114 of 118 qualifiers. Let’s not pretend he’s in the same ball park as those two

Who said he is in the same ballpark?

The guy legitimately said "he's not that good"

He is good. he's very good.

He graded out as the best* redzone WR in the NFL this year, according to PFF.  He was #5 in redzone target share as well.

Edit: Sorry, second best.  https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-vikings-wr-diggs-emerges-as-one-of-the-nfls-best-red-zone-weapons

What value does YPR have?  It's a usage indicator, not a production indicator.  Jason Witten has a career YPR around that number, and he helped win a lot of games.

I'm sure a PPR, "dink and dunk" monster is gonna be BRUTAL for the Browns, and for Gordon.

Ugh. such a bad move.

#3 in catches since entering the league.

#1 last season

graded as best Red zone WR last season

"not that good"

what is good to you, exactly?
there are lies, damn lies and statistics

my eyes tell me he is not that good, I dont care how many meaningless catches he had he is not a dominant wideout.  He just isnt.  You can disagree all you want but the proof will be in the pudding.  I wouldnt want my franchise to trade the bedrock of my team in draft picks to have to pay this guy north of 15 million when the wr core wasnt bad to start with and there is no qb as of yet.

Bro you aint getting cousins, at best you are looking at Barkley or one of his peers to start week 5ish and will be checking down to Landry which I guess is a good thing.  Though I am not sure how many head case wr one team can take on though

The Browns have cap space (and plenty of picks) to burn, so the contact is not that big of a deal to them. I’m not a huge Landry fan, but this trade makes a lot of sense for them. He’ll help them move the ball.

Wow, they just traded for Tyrod.

This does not seem like a good day for Gordon or Landry.

???  It most certainly is a production indicator. It measure productivity on a per reception basis.

By comparison Julio averaged 16.4 ypr on 88 catches for 1444 yards.

Lets stop pretending that isn’t a major gap. It’s why nfl front offices and fantasy owners alike value Julio and Landry the way they do
