LaRon Landry (1 Viewer)

Wow.. I am amazed by how many people are okay with crossing the line. To think that talking trash about an injury or life changing event is acceptable is beyond me. After watching that hit in the ATL, I felt pretty thankful the guy didn't break his neck. It was a brutal collision. There is enough evidence today that concusions can lead to future health issues.

I'm okay with trash talking, but to me, those comments were beyond acceptable. Personally, I don't find it funny or remotely tasteful. Trash talk all you want about how they play the game, or speed, etc... but you better be able to back it up on the field.

That's sportsmanship.

spitting not acceptable

trash talking, he's saying whatever to get into DJax's head and off his game.
Okay, so let me ask you: If Jackson had a disabled child, would it be okay to make fun of his kid? What if his mother had just passed away, and he mocked him for that, would you feel the same way?I'm just trying to see if there are any limits. People are saying Jackson should "be a man" about it, but I wonder if it's "manly" to be on the other side.
If as a player you felt it was ok then go for it. Personally if I felt doing that would help me win the game I would do it. At the end of the day its all about winning.
Did co workers move their chairs away as you typed that?

So now Jackson lobbies Reid to change the play calling, which Reid has worked on scripting all week because Landry talked trash? The first 15 or so plays of the game are scripted. So now Jackson goes to Reid and Reid says "he said what??? run a deep fly pattern on the first play and Vick will throw you a perfect pass".
Well yeah, does that seem so far fetched? The "trash talk" almost incited a brawl before the game. Seemed to work pretty well too.

I just talked to my boy from the team, and they said Landry was spitting on players during the game too. It's funny reading the douchebags tweets of him saying "him and D.Jack are Boyz"yada yada. According to my source, they all hate his sorry ### and are still laughing about opening up and roasting him from jump street. Trash talk is cool and DJ can dish out his fair share and never cries about it; but spitting on players is about as classless as you can get and could get you a cheap shot when your away from the action. :lmao:

That's what you call almost a brawl? It was barely a hyped up skirmish. Trash talk goes on all the time before and during games. This is nothing new or out of the norm. The only reason the trash talk is in the news is likely because Jackson cried about it afterward and it was relevant to a current topic in the league, concussions and illegal hits to the head.

Just so you guys know, this is a sport where men squeeze and twist each other's #### at the bottom of the pile. Spitting? Please. Save your "classless" remarks for baseball or soccer or something.

Blouses.

Exactly, so they decided to put the play in their script again. I'm sure it was all to get back at Landry, not because they thought Jackson could burn him deep 1v1. Must have been the trash talk.
The strategy was to get Jackson lined up on Landry and was probably already part of the gameplan. I don't think it's a outlandish to think that Jackson was looking forward to that play a little more after what happened before the game. People in this thread are talking about motivation and how that can lead to greater focus. You are talking about the gameplan, they are two different things.
I'm talking about both. Motivation and adrenaline can only take you so far. The original post that I was laughing at was about how Jackson burned Landry and scored that TD because Landry talked a little trash. It would have happened either way. Then someone else came up with the ridiculous notion that the Eagles called that as the first play of the game because Landry was talking trash. So I was talking about both, because they are both pretty ridiculous with the latter taking the cake.

I like to think its possible. Doesnt seem that far fetched to me. If Reid threw Desean that bone on the first play based off the pregame stuff I give him major kudos. Who knows i guess.
