Larry Fitz is he ok! (1 Viewer)

whole-show

Footballguy
I saw in the game thread that someone said he caught a 40 yard pass and then limped off the field. Is there any more on this? Did he come back in the game at all?

he didn't come back and he may have tweaked that hammy again--he seemed okay watching him on the sidelines but you never know. It was a great catch where he had to really go up and get the ball. He looked great today, you would have never known he was coming back from an injury.

Thanks! Thats the exact info I was looking for wasn't able to watch the game and wanted to know how he looked and if maybe he reinjured it.

Fitz came back in the game. He was in on the play in which Edge fumbled with about 5 minutes left. He wasn't in on the Cards' last possession w/ 2 minutes left.

from my YAHOO player notes:

Nov 12 Fitzgerald (right hamstring) saw more action than expected on Sunday. He led the Cardinals with six catches for 80 yards.

Recommendation: Earlier in the week, head coach Dennis Green said that Fitzgerald would play about 50 percent of the time. Fitzgerald surpassed that estimate and should be 100 percent in Week 11 against Detroit. The Cardinals have really struggled in three games under new offensive coordinator Mike Kruczek, averaging just 11.0 points per contest, but the Lions have a shaky secondary.

Love posts from people who use ff to stroke their egos.

Love posts from 8 team leagues full of guppies

Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald reaggravated his hamstring on Sunday and could be sidelined for next week's game.

:wall:  :banned: After I traded away Antonio Bryant this morning who was my only WR depth I knew this would happen. Fortunetly I got Willie Parker in the deal to team with LT2 so they are going to have to carry me.

Whatever makes you feel good buddy. For the record it's a 12 team league with 20 player rosters (hence free agents are pretty much worthless) and I never said it was a straight up deal Bryant for Parker, that would have been a joke, it was a multi player deal that according to FBG trade value chart the guy getting Bryant actually got more value.

Didn't get to see the game, but was pleased with the results. After going back and forth on whether or not to start Fitz, I ended up giving him the nod. Can't seem to find anything conclusive on his hammy, but will continue to monitor.

Guys that saw the game...questions arose about the rapport Fitz would establish with Leinart. Did Leinart seek out Fitz often, or were his targets more of a checkdown?

A combination of the two....besides the long ball throw he threw to Fitz where he got injured, many of the targets were short to intermediate to him. I do think Leinert feels comfortable in going to him and conrfident that he'll go after the ball.On the play where he was injured, he leaped up high for the ball, basically a jump ball. He went up, came down with the ball. The announcer even said........now that will test that hammy. They then showed him walking off gingerly. There was definately something to it....I am totally bummed to see that because he looked really good. During the game I saw nothing that would make you think he was coming off a hammy injury but by the looks of him after that play, I definately saw something that wasn't there prior to that play.

Larry Fitzgerald, WR ARI

News: According to The Arizona Republic, Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald felt soreness in his right hamstring against Dallas and left late in the game. The club is hopeful he'll be fine in a few days. It was Fitzgerald's first game back since missing three games with the injury. Fitzgerald had six catches for 80 yards against the Cowboys.

Analysis: Fitzgerald should be able to play but keep an eye on the situation prior to putting him back in your lineup for Week 11 against Detroit.

bump for current info
From the Blogger:November 13, 2006, 14:15Cardinals :: WRWR Fitzgerald Should Be FineAZCardinals.com Arizona Cardinals HC Dennis Green said in his Monday press conference that he thinks WR Larry Fitzgerald will be ready to play in week 11 after aggravating his hamstring injury Sunday. "He should be able to play. I think he'll get a couple days rest. But when you get down to it, I think he'll be able to play," Green said.

He is a great start this week vs. a terrible lions defense then.

6 rec for 80 yds is a solid statline for any wr, let alone a wr just coming off of a hamstring injury playing the cowboys. I can easily see a 100 yds and a td this week.

He managed to put up better numbers than Boldin last week. Anyone think that trend continues? I am cautiously optomistic that he puts up 100+yards and a td this weekend.

Who is starting Fitz this weekend? Who sits so he can start in your lineup? He is going v. weak Detroit secondary that has given up 15 passing TD's this year.

I am going with Fitz this week over Lee Evans Fitz looked good last week coming off the injury all reports seem to say he is O.K. to go. Also a good matchup against a weak Lions pass defense.

OUCH!! Sorry! So is Fitz even starting today does anyone know? Can't watch the game and haven't seen his name at all while watching on nfl.com. Thanks!

Never mind...
