Larry Fitzgerald + Arizona Offense (1 Viewer)

i would like Fitz and Boldin WAY more if Kurt Warner was throwing the ball. if i recall, both WRs benefitted from the gunslinger Warner was. his only problem was that o-line. well now that the o-line is better and Edge seems to be running alright, i'm willing to bet that Warner could do better than Leinart if given the opportunity. Warner is a leader and winner and wouldn't get rattled as much.

not to say that Leinart is not a good QB...i just think he needs more time.

the SF game was the first game of the season and it's completely understandable that there were jitters throughout, which might explain some of the lack of production. and it's possible that the SF defense has just gotten that much better...but i doubt it. imagine if Zona faces a real team.

having said all that, i'm still sticking with my man Anquan for the time being. it's only week 1 and he's got a good track record thus far. however, a big part of me hopes that Leinart will go down and give the keys to Warner.

This is one item I will be heavily watching over the next few games. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't a fan of what I saw on Monday night, but there were a couple of things that I took out of the Cards O that pulled me back from the ledge.

1. It was game one; both offenses were rusty. Other than the Pats, Colts, Cowboys and Giants, who really was sharp on offense last weekend?

2. I don't see the Cards playing too many tight games. Either they'll go up or down fairly early and either way, the passing game will play a bigger part in the offense.

3. No player on the team had more than 22 yards receiving. How often does that happen in an NFL; I'm thinking this is one of those game that skew the stats and deviate far from the norm.

4. If Leinart can't muster up more than that, he will be back to the bench sooner or later.

- I'm not ready to sell just yet, and at the price most paid for Fitz and/or Boldin, I thinking dumping him now would be a mistake.
I think it's important to recognize the strides the SF Defense has made. Every throw out to Fitzgerald that was not poorly thrown was well defensed. Overlooked within this entire thread is the fact that Fitzgerald still had more targets than Bouldin: Cardinal Targets

As a Fitzgerald owner, I'm concerned, but I won't be giving up on him yet.

Im starting to believe what alot of sharks said, that Whisenhut will mess this O up and just blindly run the ball.
The Cardinals have had one of the worst offenses in the league for years. IMO Whisenhunt is doing the correct thing by establishing a run-first offense. Yes, they have stud receivers, but a) their QB is green, b) Edge looked good last night, and c) they aren't contending for a SB this year--this is a multi-year process.
He's not running the ball because he's given up on winning this year. NFL coaches ALL play to win right now. If they don't, they lose their jobs. I think the game circumstances allowed Whisenhunt to focus on the run, which is something he wants to do because his defense isn't all that great and his QB is very inexperienced.
