I thought Arizona signed him to a long term deal 2-3 years ago

I have heard alot of rumors that he will not be back in Arizona next year. Does anyone know where I can find his contract status?

What would be his most likely destinations???????

I could see the NYJ.

Back to the Eastcoast with a good young qb. Edwards will be gone but he'd still have good talent around him.

just an idea

He's 27. His best years are now, he wants to win. That said if the Cardinals don't cement the QB position this off-season; bye-bye Fitz. I can EASILY see him meeting back up with Todd Haley in KC.

(He has a No-Trade clause for those who were wondering.)

He'll either be a Cardinal or Chief; IMO.

you said good young QB . . .
I think Sanchez is a very good young qb. For only being his 2nd year he is going to get his team to the playoffs for the 2nd year, went to the AFC championship last year and is finally getting some weapons. I really like his upside.

Goodell up to the podium....."The New England Patriots have traded a 1st, 2nd and 4th round draft pick for wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald"..........

I thought Fitz had some kind of player option at some point in his contract. Anyone else hear of this?
Yes, his contract expires after the 2011 season. He can't be franchised and has a no trade clause (unless he agrees to the trade). He has all the power and if wants to leave zona after 2011 there is zero they can do to stop him.

Hence why my post said he'll either be a Cardinal or a Chief. :wall:

I know he is a Pitt guy (actually Minnesota growing up) but PItt in college. Any chance of the Steelers being on his wishlist?

Chris Wessling wrote on his RotoWorld Daily Dose today that the Cardinals "have shown little interest" in re-signing Steve Breaston. With Fitz FA and Breaston possibly gone, who's worth a stash for next year?

E. Doucet, M. Komar, A. Roberts and S. Williams are all on ww.

If they can't get back to where they were at for the past few years, I could see them dangling him as trade bait and demanding

a LOT. If there's no chance to re-sign him, you may as well get top value for a top WR.

Contract Status

signed a 4 year deal in 2008
That's what I thought

So why have there been rumors of him not being a Cardinal next year?
Because he's supposedly unhappy there, and the idea would be to trade him for something in return next year instead of letting him walk for free the year after when he's a free agent. I think his contract doesn't allow them to tag him.
luckily for arizona, contracts dont have any effect after they expire

There is lots of talk locally about letting Breaston go this offseason. The problem is that he is VERY popular in the locker room, and teammates want him to stay. So management is in a tough spot with him, especially with the knee problems.I would think Roberts would be the guy to have of the group above. Doucet is to brittle to be counted on, and the other guys are a bit of an afterthought right now.The problem with Fitz is that he can walk after 2011 (next year). Unless the Cards address the QB problem right away, word is that Fitz may want out. Basically, the Cards have one shot this summer to keep him happy or he's probably gone. And that would suck, but my gut tells me it's going to happen.
