Larry Johnson the rest of the season? (1 Viewer)

Some of my leaguemates here at FBG can vouch that I have a HUGE LJ MANCRUSH... anyway..

Wait Pray for another good game and then deal the Big Man. Unfortunately this team can't hold a lead and once they get behind LJ's a forgotten man. KC doesn't even pass to hm when they're down and it seems like Charles is slowly becoming the one catching passes out of the backfield.

Now don't get me wrong, if KC has a team by the throat then the rock is going to Johnson until they beat you into submission ...but do you really wanna put your money on KC getting and holding a lead?

FWIW,

I sold off for Gore after LJ's Denver Adventure. Almost cried myself to sleep, but I'm feeling pretty good about it now. (7 touches for 2 yards?? ...who does this kinda ####?)
There will be no team that will route them in KC. None in the league. NE couldn't do it, and Denver lost outright. They will hang with teams at home, which is half the battle right there. I'm telling you, if you like 1500 and 10, hold onto LJ. If you want a 3 headed monster, trade him for Earnest Graham. If you can get a bush/gore/SJax type in a package deal, do it immediately. If you're getting offers for Grant/addai/MJD, its fools gold. Thats the point I'm making here. Guys like MJD and grant, everyone is looking at as buy low's, they'll turn it around. I have my doubts on that, and would rather hold onto LJ. And if I can buy him on the cheap, will attempt to do so...
The NE game was in NE, and clearly, the Brady injury took the wind out of the Pats sails. The OAK game was in KC, and Oakland just pushed them around like a JV team.

I would take MJD or Addai for him in a heartbeat, Id add more on the LJ side to get it done. half a heartbeat. Probably Grant too, although he comes with the risk of Rodgers going down and that offense looking like KCs for the rest of the year.

LJ will have 3 or 4 decent to great games over the rest of the season, but you're going to have to absorb 7 or 8 week-killers to get those games.
Neither MJD nor addia will match LJ's production. They might come close combined. But thats my opinion, and the popular one is that they both bounce back. BUY LOW! Well sir, you're selling low on LJ at the moment, and that is a cardinal sin in FF isn't it. Its all about perception I guess. A guy splitting 50/50 on a mediorce offensive team is worth more to you than a 20+ carries a game guy on a fairly terrible team. Your perrogative. Time will tell, always does...
Just like in the market there's comes a time when you have to cut your losses. LJ's trade value isn't likely to go up over the next 4 weeks (bye, Titans, Jets, Bucs) and I really don't think he's going to blow up versus Oakland or Miami. I really think you'll be fortunate to have 3 or 4 more solid (rb1) games from him the rest of the year. I would gladly trade him for Addai due to the supporting cast. LJ is more talented but those around him are not as good. I traded him for Jacobs and feel good about it.

what is everyone expecting out of MJD? I think addai has a chance of producing better than LJ, but I'm sceptical of that as well. MJD, I have very little doubt. As long as Fred stays healthy, he's not going to produce worth much at all IMO...

The week after he blew it up, I traded him even up for Housh. And with my lineup, I'd do it again today. Or tomorrow. Or even next Wednesday at around noon, 11 Central time.

You should.....your WR suck even with TJ.

Fair enough. I am, however, willing to bet my left nut that he will outproduce Graham, especially with the resugrence of Dunn, and Caddilac back in the mix at some point. I'm also willing to bet that he will be ahead of more than a few 1st rounders, the way this season is panning out...

Don't know what you got...till its gone...and replaced by crappier stuff...
Looks like LJ bought himself an extra bye week. He probably would have produced negative fantasy points this week anyway eh? So we consider this an uptick in his value?I really have to wonder if LJ isn't on the shelf during the fantasy playoffs.

We'll revisit this later :goodposting:

The most troubling thing about LJ is he doesn't catch the ball. Herm Edwards had no trouble throwing it to him last season and those receiving totals negated his poor rushing totals. This year? Ugh. Before the Denver game I sold LJ/Branch/Rodgers for Grant/OchoCinco/Palmer. I had no need for Palmer and OchoCinco is now my # 5/6 wr.

I feel LJ to Grant was a huge upgrade.

I just turned down LJ for my DeAngelo Williams..

Because I was talking turkey with another owner simultaneously and got Bowe/McGahee for Deangelo/Holt. I'd rather have the definate starter in Bowe from KC. But I would have accepted otherwise! So don't despair LJ owner's, you can still get DeAngelo Williams for him! (most of the time)

Damn glad I got Graham for him when I did. Before that trade, another owner had accepted a trade where I give him LJ for Thomas Jones and Ricky Williams. The league vetoed it.

That's a ####ty league

I got Gore and Driver for LJ and Moss and literally a half hour later, the news broke that LJ was suspended for a game.

I may have to show them the time stamp from the thread at Footballguys to convince them that I didn't know it was coming down the pipe. I don't want to show them this place. :o

tried trading him for favre earlier in the week, no dice, and favre was his backup and he could use a running back....you gotta find someone still living in 06 to get anything.

Yeah, you guys might want to reconsider the league wide veto option for trades. That's a bad veto.

anyone think Smith/Charles will do anything beyond this week?

Are they worth rostering if you don't need them for a bye week replacement?

No doubt. They were vetoing everything. I finally got the LJ for Graham trade to go through. The only rejection came from the guy that had Thomas Jones. :goodposting:

I'd start him against the Jets in two weeks ( only because I don't believe the Jets defense is as good as advertised), sit him against the Bucs..then he has a nice string of 6 games against lousy run defenses..SD, N.O., Buff, Oak, Denver, SD..they finish with Miami and Cincy..Miami will be tough, but Cincy should be easy for those who have week 16 championships..
 :goodposting: :goodposting: He is a great trade for right now.
Great! Can I trade him to you since nobody in my league is biting? What do you want to give me for him? A bag of chips? A cup of coffee? Sold! He's yours. Larry Johnson is going to rot on my bench for the rest of the season. I'm starting McClain and Hightower over him. Maybe McFadden will earn a starting spot eventually, but LJ is done for my team. I could start any random fullback and get 2 freaking yards.
Got Earnest Graham for him this week.
You were robbed.
Thanks for the incredible insight. And your in-depth opinion is based on...
does he really need insight. that was a terrible trade for you. No backup needed.
Tell me again how I was robbed? Thanks again for your amazing insight.

is there any way LJ does not get suspended this week and plays week 8? Any at all? If they can somehow disprove the allegation he told this crazy chick that he is "going to kill her BF", would RG back down?

I am trying to be a tad bit optimistic here, but how has Mike Smith been with his facts this year? Hasn't he called some premature stories(kiffin two weeks early IIRC)
