2. Lack of historical numbers. Please. Give me ONE full year where he is a top producer and that will prove me wrong and I will retract what I've said about him. The fact is that for me, I want a RB who has shown me something for at least an ENTIRE season, at minimum, if I'm going to draft him first round, even more so first pick overall.
I guess you're just pretty adverse to risk, huh?
First few rounds: YesThe rest: not as much

Depends on what you mean by risk though. I would call it not drafting wisely if you draft LJ #1 overall more than adverse or a risk taker.
I'd draft him 3rd overall, but I personally have seen enough to make that decision. That's cool if you think that's too high, I just don't get why you're calling people "insane" and saying things like "I wish you were in my league." I think we can have an interesting discussion without that stuff. I hope you kids all have a good night!

:goodposting: Agree and that's why we play this wonderful game. Last year I was NOT high on Barlow and many leaguemates and posters on message boards ripped me for it. I've been right and wrong many times but what I won't nor will never do again, is draft a player who hasn't played at least a full solid season in the pros in the first few rounds in ANY fantasy football draft. That's just me though.
Hey Cream, are you in a dynasty league, redraft.................?
Typically redraft only because I couldn't get the people in the $ leagues to commit but this year one league is going to change to a x man keeper league :pickle:
Gotcha!!
Are you from/live in Dallas? I was born there and have a ton of relatives that still live in Big D.

I have to leave work soon anyway, so he'll get a reprieve regardless.

TCTC - I respect your opinion and you're entitled to it.  Just be cognizant of the fact that if you start off on the attack, don't be surprised if someone snaps back.  Icypots to ya.
You to and enjoyed the bantering back and forth and by the way, I have to say I hate Cower so that could have played into things ;)

Yeap, with the exception of college (Lubbock) I've always been in the DFW area.

If Priest tore his ACL tomorrow and LJ were the starter I would draft him first overall. I would draft Ryan Leaf 1st overall if he were the starting RB in KC.

while researching using the SEARCH function, I came across this gem. It is interesting. To put a new spin on this thread, what: a. would you give up for LJ? or b. what would it take to get LJ from you?

B: Alexander. I have LT...so SA is all I would take right now.

With LJ on my roster, it would take a ton to pry him away in a dynasty league. Maybe a very good back (Jackson, Ron Brown, etc) plus a high pick. I do not think I would take anyone other than SA or LT straight up for LJ. LJ is especially valuable as the fantasy playoffs are upon us and most need the extra star to put them over the hump.

So, you guys think LJ has proven enough (injury history and length of performance) to take him over Edge?

That is aggressive.  I agree with everyone on his upside, but do not yet have a handle on LJ's downside risk.

I guess I still remember the "diaper" comment.
If Priest is out for the season and you draft LJ over Edge, go ahead and quit this hobby. That's insane.
Insane?Edge may be the more talented back, but in the Colts offense, he's kind of an afterthought. LJ plays in the most dominant rushing offense (scoring wise) in the NFL.

Consider 2004 :

James - 9 TD on 385 touches. 2.33% TD rate

Johnson - 11 TD on 142 touches. 7.75% TD rate

I'd take my chances on LJ with 300-400 touches guaranteed......
Sounds like the same thing I heard this time last year about Barlow...Really a mute point, he won't even start for KC unless Priest is done.
Please stop comparing LJ to Barlow, the situations are so vastly different it is amazing to see anyone even site this as a point.
Then please stop saying how great LJ will be when it won't even happen this year.I'll come back to this thread if Priest gets traded and/or has season ending surgery before the draft and let me know where you drafted LJ.

LJ a top pick. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Please put me in your league!
:hey: :banned:

Well, TCTC is banned, so he won't be able to respond to this, but based on last week, I didn't see anything to suggest LJ shouldn't be a top 5 pick if Priest were lost for the season before week 1.

Where does LJ get drafted in dynasty if draft is today? Top 5?
I would absolutely think so.
I have him at #5 for my own rankings.. LT/SA/Edge/Jordan/LJ... Jackson is like a close 6th..
The whole "Dicky is leaving", "O-line is all going to retire at once" is flawed, and LJ is indeed a top 5 dynasty RB.ATL has no pro bowl o-line, doesn't seem to bother Dunn. O-line success is about coaching, and a commitment to run. The Chiefs obviously believe in the system they have, and they'll keep drafting o-line, keep coaching them in the system, and keep a great offense.

Most of the LJ backslash is from Holmes owners who have a man crush on him, and can't bear to think of not having the TD machine on their rosters. Fact is LJ replaced him just fine last year, just fine 2 days ago, and will be just fine the rest of the year. The Chiefs aren't suddenly going to be a horrible offensive team in 1 year, or two, or three.

People have no trouble hyping up Mcgahee in that horrid offense. But for some reason, there's tons of LJ backlash. People talk about that 1 yard run last week to win the game, no one mentions the 37 yard catch LJ made to get them down to the one.
