yeah... i have him in a keeper league too. when i made the pick, i expected nothing out of him this season. then he teased us with that bengals game. seems they're hellbent on having dillon run in the short ones and basically get in the way, so i'm back to not expecting much. but i'm thrilled to have him for next year and beyond.
Yeah, I know Bill B is a genius and all, but I agree with what Madden said today: They should have been pounding the ball. When they don't do that and then they always put Dillon in near the goal line, I think it means wait til next year.

Same here, I traded up in the draft to take him so I can keep him for future years, but wasn't thinking I would start him. Though he has gotten quite a few starts in my flex since we get kick return yardage too and those extra 3+ points a game make him worth it.
If you don't get points for KR yardage/TDs, I'd say the only reason to keep him this year is on the chance that Dillon goes down with an injury. But, Dillon is probably less likely to go down with the 3-man RBBC that the Pats are using with Faulk back in the line-up.
If you can afford to give up a roster spot to hold him, then I'd keep holding him even in a re-draft league.
Maroney has a better PPG average than starters like Jamal Lewis, Caddy, Droughns, and Jordan. He's averaging 70 all-purpose yards a game and is a threat for a TD every time he touches the ball- not to mention being the top kick returner in football (he's due to break one). With Faulks pitiful performance against the rival Colts i gotta think Maroney will get even more involved in the passing game.
But the point is the guy is one Corey Dillon turned ankle away from being a top 10 if not top 5 running back. How many #3 RBs can say that? If Dilllon goes down late in the season, Maroney is worth his weight in fantasy gold.
I just used him as my bye week filler for Westbrook and he had a nice little game and had his opportunities to get in the endzone. No- he isnt going to do you much good as an every week starter right now, but the guys around where he was drafter (and where he is performing) arent going to help you much either. If Dillon is on the sideline the week the fantasy playoffs start- all my opponents in all my leagues will talk about how lucky I am. But luck is where opportunity meets preparation. Jamal Lewis and Rueban Droughns are good enough to lose with- but Maroney is a gem, a guy that gives you points every week and you arent afraid to start over a bye that has the opportunity to win you a fantasy league almost single handedly if circumstances go a certain way.
He has 30% of the tailback receptions (10 out of 33) but has half of the tailback rushes (107 of 218).It might technically be accurate to say it, but I think in the fantasy context it would be a little misleading because we care more about touches than we do snaps where the player didn't accumulate stats. He's getting 46% of the tailback touches, that is the most important stat when it comes to opportunity.
