League Management Software (1 Viewer)

Guys and Gals,

I have been running a Fantasy Football League for 16 years and we have only changed League Management Software once (from an out-of-the-box solution to CBS Sportsline circa 1999). Since then the league has morphed from a redraft league to a a keeper league with two playoff brackets (Championship and Consolation). At that time, CBS was one of the best systems around because it had an excellent portal and offered a lot of control underneath the hood. Since then, their service has declined, the price has gone up and their product is very glitchy. Simple things like "how long is a day?" requires a 5-year Engineering Degree to explain. If you have at lest 5 years experience and have used the pay version of multiple platforms, I am looking forward to your response.

So, which systems have you used and have been satisfied with?

Here is what we need:

1. Point scoring customization (QB, WR, RB, TE, K and DST)

2. Schedule customization and playoff bracket customization

3. Bid-based waiver system

4. Trade review and veto

5. Keeper capability and more importantly draft records

6. Live Scoring

7. a 24 hour clock or some other predictable method of time managing transactions

8. Ability to trade draft picks and to lock players into a draft slot (i.e. keepers)

This is a picky league and moving them to CBS was a nightmare years ago, it will be just as nasty this time around so site "sexiness" is also a requirement. Money is not an issue as long as it stays below $200 for the LMS or under $15 per team.

Thanks,

Slenzo

As many of these types of posts we get in the Shark Pool, shouldn't there be a pinned thread for League Management Software? I'm sure a lot of folks could benefit from this and we wouldn't have to rehash the same thing over and over.

MFL FTW!!

$70 if paid before June 10th and I think they have a special discount for the 1st year if moving a league over that you could take advantage of.

As flexible as you could ever want and if you are willing to put the time or money into it or have somone that knows website stuff like CSS then you can really pimp out your website to look like whatever you want.

It is quickly becoming the standard option for just about every league I have tried to look at joining the last few years.

I started at Fanball for 3-4 years and it was a nightmare dealing with all the owners complaining about change but once they get used to the options and where everything is there isnt one person who doesnt love the change.

Has anyone used the NFL.com League Manager product? I think it is provided by CBS...does it have support for contracts and salaries?

RT Sports has everything you mentioned, with the exception of customized playoff brackets (I'm the commish and I manually adjust post-season) and I'm not 100 percent sure about blind waiver bids (we use worst record) but there is customization opportunities there. I also find RT's user interface to be heads above anything else on the market, so that will take care of your sexiness factor. We've had RT for the last seven of our nine year league and haven't even thought of switching away from them.

FYI, I've used paid levels of RT, Yahoo, CBS Sportsline, EA and MFL. RT ranks number one. If I had to downgrade anything about RT, it's that they offer little in the way of expert analysis. But frankly, FBG takes care of that anyway.

RT give a big discount for switching from other sites as well. Tell them "RamsDude" sent you.

Been using RTS for almost a decade now.....and we use Blind Waiver bids that process on Wed night and then the website automatically awards players to winning bids and starts our FCFS window from Thur thru Sunday morning. And like he said, I don't pay attention to the RTS fantasy advice anyway.Another perk: As a returning customer, I don't think they've increased the fee from $72 / year so you won't get the "try us and then the price goes up next yr" bait and switch.

We've been using RTSports for years now. IMO, they are the best out there. They have just about everything you could want and they have real customer service with real people on the phone. Their site looks clean and professional, unlike some of the hideously ugly pages that can be created on MFL.

I also like the fact they are constantly improving their site and using suggestions from their customers. I asked for playoff brackets last year and they claim they should have it by the end of this season. And their fantasy writer seems to be pretty good. They have a ton of ranked players in their draft guide.
