Lee Evans - first 4 weeks 2006 vs 2007 (1 Viewer)

evans is going to have to put up two good weeks in a row for me to even consider starting him again. i was hamstrung this last week not knowing if mark clayton or greg jennings could play. now that they are back evans is my WR5. he will only see my lineup if there are injuries/byes that compel me to start him.

that situation is atrocious. in a PPR leeg, evans should fall out of bed and get 6 PPG. he doesn't even have 6 points total yet.

a monkey could pick a WR off the WW and get better production.

It isn't as if Evans all of the sudden isn't any good. The man is possibly the most talented receiver in the league. Awful match-ups, and horrible play calling so far for the Bills. It will work itself out.
Why not? It seems to happen quite a lot. Just look at the last 4 or 5 years:Clayton sucks.

AJ disappeared for a year under Carr.

Price is a nobody.

Gardner fell apart.

Booker's a journeyman.

All of these players have had seasons similar or better to what Evans did last year, and this is just recent history. There's quite a few one hit wonders (Price, Gardner, Clayton).

When you don't have a good QB under center, these sorts of things can and do happen. Will it turn around? I don't know, but its not like talented players haven't fizzled out in the past.

Very simple, all you have to do is watch Lee Evans play. The man is a beast. If you are a stud, you are a stud. It isn't his fault that people can't put the ball in his hands to this point. It also isn't his fault that the rest of his receiving core is a joke, and they can put their entire secondary on Evans. Which Clayton are you speaking of?

Agree with you here. Evans looked fantastic in the preseason.

Michael. Also, AJ is one of the most skilled players in the league and he got shut down for a full season in '05, so I'm not sure what you're point is. Also, Price looked pretty unstoppable back in the day too. All these players had very good seasons and then fell off the Earth, talented or not.

The reason is simple: being talented or having a great season doesn't mean you can be consistently great in a team sport. Lots of players with abundant talent don't amount to much, and even those with average talent can emerge.
