Bills | Evans injuries wrist

Published Wed Aug 2 4:03:00 p.m. ET 2006

(KFFL) Chris Brown, of BuffaloBills.com, reports Buffalo Bills WR Lee Evans (wrist) was absent for the final 10 minutes of practice Wednesday, Aug. 2, due to an apparent wrist injury. Evans attempted to pull in a pass during a two-minute drill and remained on the ground for several seconds. Following the practice, Evans said he was fine and continued to do some conditioning work with CB Nate Clements. "I just landed it on it wrong and it kind of popped in and out of place," said Evans. "It's alright though."

I love Evan's talent and speed, I am just not at the point were I would be willing to draft anyone from Buffalo yet. It is always a concern when a #2 goes to a #1 (Peerliss Price), especially when the new #2 is Roscoe Parrish, Andre Davis, Josh Reed, or PEERLISS PRICE himself!

What is your question my friend?
He may just not remember that Peerless Price was asked to become a #1 with ATL after a couple productive seasons as a #2 in Buff. However, I don't think the fact that Price failed was just because of thepressure of having a #1 label, or a lack of quality complements for that matter.I just think he lost it about 3 years ago. Weather it was lack of motivation (most likely) or lost a step. Clearly he was never the same after that year after he signed with ATL.....hijack over.

Or Price's problems could have been from:1) The eye injury that he hadand2) Having a QB that is a great athlete for a pretty sorry passer.:shrug:I still actually like Price and think that he's be a very good #2 WR again in Buffalo.

Just trying to figure out what you are trying to say there... By the sounds of things you think there's a chance Price could end up as the #1 and #2 WR.

what does the "but...." in the title mean? is there some reason to think he won't be fine?

The first refrence of Peerless Price he was referring to him going from a #2 in Buffalo to #1 in Atlanta, and failing. The second mention was the fact that he would be sorry #2 with him being back with the Bills. If that's confusing, put "Drew Bennett" in the beginning sentence where the original Peerless Price is, and it will make more sense.

Oh, I see... I thought he was saying if Evans were actually serisouly hurt and Price slid up to #1...

It won't make any sense at all if you try and put Santana Moss or Steve Smith in there instead of Price.

Don't you know what a "but" is?Sorry, I couldn't resist. :D
To answer Aaron's question: A wrist injury to a WR could be very difficult to over come. I worry about the hands and wrists of WRs. And as someone who has had a broken wrist, you think you can play through it and tough it out, but it can linger a while.

As an Evans owner, I'll be watching this closely. A wrist injury of this nature can linger, especially given a WR's need to catch passes. Also, whenever I hear that "something popped" I get nervous. Real nervous. It usually implies some sort of ligament or tendon injury. But in this case it sounds like Evans lucked out and at least wasn't seriously injured.

I wonder if this is the same arm? Any idea?

One is probably a mistaken report...
